⭐️MY CHALLENGE, MY PASSION!
Meet Komon, a Community Health Worker from Sirrah Village in Manus Province, who is currently using his skill and experience to make a difference in the lives of people in Manus Province.
Komon graduated in March of 2022 from the Kungumanda Foursquare Community Health Worker Training School in Enga Province. Prior to joining the National Volunteer Service (NVS), he was a volunteer at Lorengau East Urban Clinic with the Manus Provincial Health Authority.
Recently inducted as an NVS volunteer, Komon continues to serve at the Lorengau East Urban Clinic, supporting communities across Wards one, two, three and four of Lorengau Urban LLG.
His passion for healthcare is deeply personal. When Komon was just 12 years old, his mother was seriously ill. Due to circumstances such as long distance to nearest hospital and lack of medical officer at the village aid post, he was unable to get her the care she needed.
That experience inspired him to pursue a career in healthcare.
Today, Komon is turning that childhood experience into purpose. Through his volunteer activities , he conducts health awareness and prevention activities, helping communities understand how to prevent illness and reduce the impact of lifestyle diseases.
From his village in Manus to the communities of Lorengau, Komon continues to serve with dedication, compassion and purpose.
🤝Hats of to you Komon, the National Volunteer Service commend you for your volunteerism to Manus Province and its people.
