UPNGBSA DONATION UPDATE
The UPNGBSA is pleased to confirm the successful delivery of our first round of donations.
Working alongside the Port Moresby Bougainville Association, our team has completed the logistical transfer of critical aid supplies to the PNGDF Air Base. These materials are now staged for air-freight to Buka, where they will provide essential relief to communities in Bougainville severely affected by Cyclone Maila.
We anticipate distribution to those most in need will commence next week.
Our sincere thanks to every student, donor, and partner who contributed to this vital cause. Your support makes this possible.
The work continues, donations for Batch 2 remain open.

To our graduating members of the UPNG Bougainville Students Association,
On behalf of UPNGBSA, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of you on reaching this milestone. Your years of hard work, late nights, and dedication through assignments, exams, and everything in between have paid off.
You have not only earned your degrees, you’ve represented Bougainville with pride at UPNG and shown the next generation what’s possible. As you step into careers, service, and leadership, carry the same resilience and community spirit that got you here.
We are proud of you. The region and the nation need your skills, your ideas, and your heart.

The Bougainville Voices Open Panel Discussion was held yesterday at UPNG, providing students with an informative discussion on key issues affecting Bougainville.
The initiative builds on a 2025 project facilitated by the Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation in Bougainville, with support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and in coordination with the Autonomous Region of Bougainville Government (ABG).
The session featured panelists Ms. Stephanie Elijah (DIMI), Ms. Deviyani Laxmi Dixit (UNFPA) and Ms. Rebecca Kessin (Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation), with UNFPA Representative Ms. Saira Shameem also in attendance.
The discussion highlighted findings from 26 participatory community dialogues conducted across the 13 districts in AROB.
This focused on key development areas on the ABG six benchmarks under the Bougainville Peace Agreement (BPA):
• Law and order
• Governance
• Social Services
• Human Development
• Economy Development
• Health and Standards of Living
A meaningful step in bringing Bougainville conversations to students.
