SCHOOLS TO RESUME NEXT WEEK
All schools throughout PNG will resume classes next Monday April 19th, 2021.
Controller of the National Pandemic Response David Manning announced this in a statement on Monday.
He has directed all schools to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 measures and embrace the 'Niupela Pasin' or New Normal going forward.
He says wearing of face masks and social distancing must be strictly enforced in all schools.
Mr. Manning says any student feeling sick must remain at home, until they've been cleared by health authorities.
He's urged everyone to play their part in stopping the disease from continuing an upward spiral.
As of yesterday, PNG's confirmed cases stands at 8,602 with 69 deaths.
