A seed has been sown in the Warongoi Elementary School and we are super excited to see these children bloom into ENB (and possibly PNGs) next generation of leaders!

WARONGOI ELEMENTARY RECIEVES DIGITAL LIBRARY KIT & SOLAR LIGHTS!

Today the our team successfully delivered a Digital Library and 200 Solar Buddy Lights to the students in Warongoi Elementary School. Members of the community and parents flocked the school to see this life changing event.

The Digital Library of 40 tablets consists of over 700 reading books and a majority of these books have been written by PNG writers. The Solar Buddy Lights on the other hand are palm sized lights which were built by kids for kids. These lights can stay long hours even if they have been charged for a short period of time.

The school has been operating without a Library and the teachers have faced challenges with reading materials and in preparing daily lessons for the children. This delivery is a major game changer and we hope to have the standard of learning improve for the children in the area.

We are grateful and we really appreciate the support given to us by KTF , BSP Financial Group Limited , Mundango Abroad, Library for All, SolarBuddy.org, Westpac PNG, the Pomio District Office, the ENB Provincial Education Office, the local community and our families and friends who supported this project!

PROJECT DELIVERY DAY!!

It's the moment we have been waiting for! Today our team is off to Warongoi to deliver their year-long planned project! Today a Digital Library will be delivered to over 200 plus students of the Warongoi Elementary School (ENB). This will change many lives and impact this rural community for a really long time!

IT'S PROJECT WEEK!

The past couple of months have been busy for the team but we are happy to announce that our team is currently in Kokopo ready to deliver the "Sparks Library Kit" to children in the Warongoi Elementary School! We will also be presenting solar lights to the school to present to the students and we're super stoked for this!

Warongoi Elementary School in the East New Britain Province is our target school for this delivery. Warongoi Elementary is located 42km from Kokopo in the Pomio District and has over 200+ children from the rural communities attending this school.

"Digitally Empowering Children to Read" is an initiative by the Kokoda Track Foundation 2021 Archer Grant Winners. The project is aimed at introducing children to the Sparks Digital Library. Sparks is a ready-made digital library that is designed to suit different children’s reading levels. It is believed that children learn more effectively through imagination and we want to inspire and encourage more school children to tap into the habit of reading.
