With a ten-year investment from New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) in education, skills and resilient learning across the Pacific, the Commonwealth of Learning is launching the next phase of the Pacific Partnership for Open, Distance and Flexible Learning.

Running from 2026 to 2036, the partnership will work across Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Naoero, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. COL’s regional centre, the Pacific Centre for Flexible and Open Learning for Development (PACFOLD), hosted at the University of the South Pacific, will serve as a key delivery partner.

After a successful first phase that saw more than 7,200 educators enrol in professional development, around 5,900 young people complete community-based skills training and more than 300 Pacific-contextualised open educational resources developed, the next phase will embed what works within Pacific institutions and systems to make flexible learning a recognised, sustainable part of education and skills delivery. Gender equality, disability and social inclusion, alongside climate-change education and resilience, will be integrated across every programme output.

The goal is long-term Pacific ownership, with recognised skills, stronger institutions and flexible learning systems that can continue reaching learners wherever they live, including when disruption strikes.

COL congratulates the Government and people of Papua New Guinea and is proud to support national efforts to widen access to education and skills under the Education Transformation Vision 2075 through open schooling, flexible TVET, teacher development, skills training for women and young people, and the responsible use of technology-enabled learning and AI.

Through the Partnership for Open, Distance and Flexible Learning in the Pacific, funded by New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Papua New Guinea has further strengthened policy, locally relevant open educational resources, and capacity for flexible learning.

As COL and partners look ahead to a second, decade-long phase of the partnership, we will continue working with Papua New Guinea to open more pathways for young people not in education, employment or training, and to make learning more accessible and resilient across the country.

Carrier Opportunity computing and digital Upskilling Training.

This is to inform the citizens of Jiwaka,Chimbu and Western Highland Provinces including general public that through the community support incentives between Awest Pacific Community Leadership Training Institute and ComTech PNG bridging you the opportunity to be trained and Excel in Computing and digital knowledge.

The Program has 4 Moudles discovering extensive research and knowledge building including and not limited to:
1. Computer Fundamentals
2. Microsoft Productivity
3. Internet and Web Application and
4. Social Media Platform and Usages

Training Venue: ComTech PNG Digital Hub Banz

The training has standard computer Cafe (lab) set up for the training with reliable power supply and stand by Gen Set. The high speed Internet access by StarLink with conducive environment. It is located along the Kudjip Banz Hiway.

It is oriented to Students, SME owners, students and professional. We can do special arrangements for afternoon classes if you are busy during day.

Course: Certificate II in Computing and Digital Skills

Course fee is K350.00! . Registration starts as of 10th of September -30th. Class Commences on the First of October.
