SCU Orientation - March 5th and 6th 2026!
Recently Southern Cross University in collaboration with IBSUniversity hosted the 2026 Orientation Program.
The two-day program welcomed our new first-year students, helping them transition smoothly into university life by introducing them to:

We were honored to host Ms. Esther Ururu, Human Resource Manager from Hilton Port Moresby Hotel & Residences, who delivered an insightful and practical session for our Year 3 & Year 4 students and our College Certificate 4 students.
Students learned about:

β Professional attitude and behaviour
β Unwritten rules that guide workplace culture
β Effective communication in a professional setting
β Time management and punctuality

Day 2 of the National Conference kicked off with an engaging Panel Discussion!
The session was moderated by Mr. Milfred Lopez, Senior Lecturer at the School of Accounting & Finance at IBSUiversity.

The afternoon featured Technical Paper Presentations β Session 2, showcasing innovative studies, research breakthroughs, and academic contributions from various presenters.
Day 2 concluded with an heartfelt closing remarks, wrapping up the two- day conference filled with learning, insights, and meaningful discussions.

De La Salle Secondary School Visit Highlight!
IBSUniversity and IBS College of TVET had the pleasure of engaging with the Grade 12 boys of De La Salle Secondary School today from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, through two informative and inspiring sessions.
Ms. Palakurthi Harika, Senior Lecturer in the School of Business Management and Coordinator of the IBS Career Development Centre, led an insightful session on Career Pathways and Future Planning, encouraging students to think critically about their interests, passions, and the opportunities that lie in IBSUniversity and IBS College of TVET.
Students also participated in a valuable session on Financial Literacy presented by Mr. Wasa Malu, Accounting Lecturer and Coordinator of IBS College of TVET. His discussion focused on the importance of understanding money management, financial responsibility, and practice the habit of saving and investment.
To further support learning and inspiration, five copies of the autobiography of IBSUniversity Founder, Sir Mick Nades, was presented to the schoolβs library, providing students with the opportunity to learn from his remarkable journey of perseverance, leadership, and vision.

Employability Session 2: Career Advisory Insights β Industry Perspectives
On Wednesday, 4th March, the Career Development Centre at IBSUniversity was privileged to host Tracy Wafewa, Talent & Learning Resource Centre Manager at Steamships Trading Company, for an hour of engaging guest lecture focused on career advises for professional development.
The session provided Year 3 & Year 4 students across the four schools in IBSUniversity, along with Certificate 4 IBS College students, with valuable insights into career development, industry expectations, and professional growth.
Students gained practical knowledge on:
