Rapucation is a workshop provider that uses hip hop and other forms of expression to inspire creativity to promote communication and change within communities of the world. (ESPANOL ABAJO) Rapucation originally started as a collective that used Rap and Poetry to teach social education and to help young people gain confidence and improve their literacy in the United Kingdon between 2003 and 2009. S
ince 2011 it developed into a collective that provides all kinds of creative education in Latin America and is now looking to connect projects between the UK and Latin America in 2018 . Rapucation is able to gain contact with many artists to work in any place where someone sees a need, as well as offering a great service in artist management to ensure that the standard of work is to a high degree. Rapucation provides a full range of workshops covering all elements of performance and art, however, specialising in the writing, performing and recording rap, vocal and spoken word lyrics. This process is used to teach young people about issues in society, to help them to investigate and think about their own place in society, use their voices well, as well as generating thoughts on the world and the future of our planet. We also encourage young people to be creative as part of a balanced sense of well being. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life and we want to encourage all young people to create for this reason and to have fun! As well as working with children who are at risk of exclusion, crime or have low self esteem, Rapucation has also worked with gifted young people and has started to branch out and work with young adults, especailly in Latin America through its image of rapper and history of rap workshops. We can also work as a reward for young people that have worked hard within their school or community, or on and investigative basis around any subject or team building exercise. Due to our previous experiences we have the ability to work in a preventive and informative capacity or to inspire and channel the work of young artists and help all people to find their creative sides Music connects everyone, we have seen it bridge classes, cultures, bullies and the bullied, give people a voice who were afraid to speak, started conversations that were hard to start and engaged young people that had no interest in any kind of institution and headed down a rocky road. It has been amazing to see our workbreak down social barriers in the youth environment, inspired confidence, self esteem and communication within the community. Rap music is a powerful tool and is sometimes used for negative messages and gains globally;
Rapucation is taking the best side of raps power and using it as a positive method of education. As well as using creativity to teach, we also give young people a chance to experiment with music, find new ways of expression and have contact with artists who are positive role models and can be an active influence on their future. Many of these young people would not have accessibility to these kinds of experiences, Rapucation can take these opportunities directly into these young people’s immediate environment and empower them to get involved and create. Rapucation has also provided film, photography, music production, beatbox and many workshops within schools for social studies by using music as a medium to teach about issues such as climate change, racism, bullying, cultural music, refugees, war, global responsibility, art movements, community strength, self image and also for the enjoyment of learning new skills. These workshops include craft workshops using rubbish, social film workshops using mobile phones or inspiring community movements with our “Grassroots” workshops. We are able to tailor any of our workshops to any of the issues you may want to work on within your institution or community. We are also able to find contact roots to many artists due to our working artists within the music industry. Rapucation comenzó originalmente como un colectivo que utilizó Rap y Poesía para enseñar educación social y para ayudar a los jóvenes tener confianza en si mismos y mejorar su alfabetización en el Reino Unido entre 2003 y 2009. Desde 2011 se convirtió en un colectivo que trabaja con educación creativa en América Latina y ahora está buscando conectar proyectos entre el Reino Unido y América Latina en 2018. Rapucation es capaz de ponerse en contacto con muchos artistas para trabajar en cualquier lugar donde alguien ve una necesidad, así como ofrecer un gran servicio en la gestión de artistas para garantizar el nivel de trabajo en un alto grado. Rapucation ofrece una gama completa de talleres que abarcan todos los elementos de rendimiento y arte, sin embargo, se especializa en la escritura, ejecución y grabación de rap, vocales y poesia. Podemos trabajar premiando los jóvenes que han trabajado duro en su escuela o comunidad, o en base de investigación y alrededor de cualquier tema o ejercicio de construcción de equipo. Debido a nuestras experiencias anteriores tenemos la capacidad de trabajar en una capacidad preventiva e informativa o inspirar y canalizar el trabajo de jóvenes artistas y ayudar a todas las personas a encontrar su lado creativo. Rapucation está tomando el mejor lado del poder de hip hop y lo utiliza como un método positivo en la educación.
