Welcome to Parign Hak - Grandma’s Home
Parign Hak - Grandma´s Home, is a small non-commercial Ayahuasca center in the Peruvian Amazon, founded and owned by an indigenous Harakbut woman and her family.
Our unique retreats strive to be as beneficial to the local indigenous population as they are to the participants who visit us. We work closely with the surrounding native communities to offer a life-changing experience of respectful cultural exchange for every guest, from the moment they arrive. Participants are immersed into the culture, history, food and knowledge of these amazing (but relatively unknown) Amazonian people. Ayahuasca originated in the Amazon, and reciprocity for this rainforest and its indigenous people rests at the very heart of our center.
We are located in breathtaking mountain rainforest terrain, on the Upper Madre de Dios River in Southeastern Peru. Parign Hak rests between two major natural protected areas: the Manu Biosphere Reserve, (one of the most biodiverse places on Earth and a UNESCO heritage site), and the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve, the ancestral Harakbut homeland.
Contained by a local indigenous family in this stunningly beautiful natural environment, our retreats are transformational, environmentally sustainable, culturally respectful and re-affirming, highly educational, mutually beneficial, and safe for both female and male participants.
