It was initially created as a School of Engineers of Peru . Stresses in Sciences, Engineering , Technologies and Applied Arts.
The National Engineering University is organized into 11 faculties covering 28 specialties .
It was founded in 1876 by initiative of the state due to the growing industrialization of the country and the need for Peruvian professionals who can develop great works such as mining , design and construction of railway lines and roads, bridges , etc.
In the 1910 school reform was implemented in order to adapt to new times and new technologies emerging at the time. This reform school came out with five sections.
