Smells Like Hadouken!
As a teenager in the early 90's I was exposed to a lot of the aggression coming from the distorted guitars, growling vocals and angst-filled lyrics of the grunge movement, emerging to shake things up in the music scene from that time.
Meanwhile the gaming scenario was dominated by the cuteness of Super Mario until the arrival of Street Fighter - players turned head-to-head combat into the primary game mode, only to be smashed by a Lightning Kick, a Sonic Boom, a Tiger Uppercut or the popular Hadouken.
This is a collection of pieces combining the two universes - under the concept the devastating special attack combos were as aggressive and mind-boggling as grunge's powerful and heavily distorted guitar riffs.

"Would?" forma parte del álbum Dirt. Apareció por primera vez como banda sonora de la película Singles, publicada en 1992. También fue incluida en los álbumes recopilatorios de la banda Nothing Safe: Best of the Box (1999), Music Bank (1999), Greatest Hits (2001), y The Essential Alice in Chains (2006). La letra de la canción, escrita por el vocalista y guitarrista Jerry Cantrell se inspiró en el cantante Andrew Wood, que murió de una sobredosis de he***na en 1990.
Fué lanzada como single en 1992 convirtiéndose en una de las canciones más populares de la banda. Alcanzó el puesto número 5 en el Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks. En enero de 1993 fue lanzada como single en el Reino Unido alcanzando el top 20 y el top 40 en los Países Bajos. Fue posicionada en el lugar número 88 en el ranking de las mejores canciones del Hard rock hecho por VH1.
El video musical de "Would?" lanzado en 1992 fué co-dirigido por Cameron Crowe y Josh Taft. Ganó el premio "Best Video from a Film" en los MTV Video Music Awards de 1993. El video está disponible en el recopilatorio de videos Music Bank: The Videos. Otra versión de esta canción se puede encontrar en el disco en directo MTV Unplugged.
