🌱 From pioneers to leaders: 40+ years growing organic cotton in Latin America.

In the 1980s, we believed in something few thought possible: growing organic cotton at scale in Peru.

What started as a pioneering vision became a long-term commitment, built together with farming families and partners who share our belief that cotton can be grown with greater respect for people and the planet.

Today, our journey is supported by international certifications including GOTS, OCS, USDA NOP, EU Organic, B Corp, Fair for Life, Regenagri and ROC — reflecting our commitment to organic, regenerative and fair practices across our supply chain.

More than 40 years later, our purpose remains the same: growing cotton that respects the land and the people behind it.

📸 Swipe to see our journey — from our first fields to where we are today.

It all starts at the farm. 🌱

Behind every cotton fiber is a farmer, a field, and years of knowledge.

Since 1986, Bergman/Rivera has built its business model around long-term relationships with smallholder farmers, combining farm expertise, technical support, and direct connection with brands.

Many have followed this path since then. For us, it has always been the way we work.

Because real traceability is more than knowing where cotton comes from.

It’s about knowing the people who grow it, understanding their challenges, and working together to improve the way cotton is produced.

When brands connect with the farm, they see the real story behind their fiber.

From farmers to brands. From field to fashion.

🌿 Colored by nature.

Our organic color-grown cotton develops its rich earthy tones naturally—no dyes, no bleaching, no added chemicals.

The result? Less water, fewer chemicals, and naturally soft fibers that preserve the beauty of the cotton from field to fabric.

Nature creates the color. We simply protect it. 🤎

The season ends. The planning begins.

As one harvest comes to a close, we look ahead—preparing the next crop, strengthening our partnerships with farmers, and building an even better season.

The future of organic cotton starts today.

Visibility starts at the gin.

Organic cotton doesn’t become traceable by chance. By controlling our ginning operation, we maintain full oversight of every bale, preserving fiber quality and ensuring complete traceability from the field forward.

In the field, where impact begins.

This photo captures what our Farming Team does every day: working side by side with farmers, listening, sharing knowledge, and providing the technical assistance needed to make regenerative and organic cotton thrive.

Our team is dedicated to supporting producers all year long through regular farm visits, hands-on training, and continuous capacity building. Their expertise helps farmers implement regenerative practices, strengthen their operations, and produce cotton that benefits both people and the planet.

Behind every successful harvest is a team committed to empowering farming communities with knowledge, practical solutions, and long-term partnership.

Their dedication is the foundation of our regenerative and organic cotton program—and a key driver of lasting impact.

Before the fabric, before the garment, there is the fiber.

An organic cotton bale in the making—the starting point of a responsible supply chain and the materials that shape every piece.

VEJA officially launched in Peru 🇵🇪🌱

Proud to hear our management team member, Mariela Calderón Ariz, share the story behind VEJA’s 10+ year connection with Peru through regenerative organic cotton sourced via Bergman Rivera.

More than sourcing, it’s about building long-term relationships with farmers, creating transparent supply chains, and driving positive impact from the ground up.

Excited to keep connecting purpose-driven brands with regenerative agriculture. 👟✨

Beneath the warmth of the sun, a humble cotton boll slowly comes to life

Each ray fuels its growth—shaping its softness, its purity, its quiet strength.

There’s beauty in that process—in how something so simple is nurtured into something valuable.

We inspiration in every stage of growth.

In April, we hosted our White Cotton Tour across Chincha & Pisco 🌿

Within just 30 km, partners experienced the full journey of our organic cotton — from regenerative farms to ginning and spinning. A unique proximity that strengthens traceability and collaboration.

More than a process, it’s a reminder: cotton depends on nature, skilled hands, and is deeply vulnerable to climate change.

From field to fiber, building a resilient supply chain is a shared responsibility.
