Hi Friends!

I wanted to share something exciting and deeply personal with you—we’re heading back to Cusco this July for another Project World School Teen Retreat, and I’d love to extend the invitation to your teen before registration closes in just two weeks.

It’s been five years since our last adventure in Cusco, but this place holds such a special part of my heart. My son and I actually lived there for three years, and returning feels like coming home in the most meaningful way. This will be our sixth time running this particular retreat, and every time, it unfolds in ways I never could’ve scripted. It’s transformational—not just for the teens, but for all of us involved.

This isn’t your average trip. Yes, we’ll visit the awe-inspiring Sacred Valley and of course, Machu Picchu. But we’ll also step far off the tourist track. One of the most powerful parts of our journey is our homestay in a rural Andean community, where we’re welcomed like family. We learn how to farm, make chicha (a traditional fermented corn drink), and cook with the family—experiences that are often humbling and profound for teens used to Western comforts.

But this retreat isn’t just about cultural immersion. It’s about connection—connection to place, to self, and to one another. Every day, we nurture an intentional community through sharing circles, group reflection, and leadership opportunities. We practice consent, empathy, and respect. We explore what it means to belong, to lead, and to grow.

Cusco is filled with mystery—ancient ruins that challenge our understanding of history, Andean spirituality that ties people to the land in beautiful and sacred ways, and stories that stay with you long after the trip ends.

But what really makes this retreat different is the inner journey. It’s the kind of experience that shifts something inside your teen. They step out of their comfort zone and into who they’re becoming. I’ve been hosting these retreats for over 13 years now, with a 100% safety record, and I bring my full heart, my years of mentoring experience, and deep trust in teens’ capacity for growth to each retreat.

And honestly? I think this is going to be one of our most powerful journeys yet.
