Wiracocha Spiritual/Financial Learning Center (WSFLC) aims to promote the exchange of valuable knowledge, skills and tools between financially successful people from around the world and less fortunate people living in the Sacred Valley area in Peru. The concept has the potential to be expanded worldwide using this model. The knowledge exchange will enrich both sets of people. To start, it will teach local people important basic business and financial skills and tools. The instructors, who are paying clients from other places, will benefit from a deepened understanding of the indigenous culture, traditions, wisdom, and skills through hiking and/or activities with locals in the Wiracocha Spiritual/Financial Learning Center (WSFLC). It is our intention that the skills and knowledge the local people learn will help them to raise their standard of living through better financial management. It may also help some to create or improve their business opportunities. On the grounds of the Learning Center will be a whitewater rafting company (River Tampu), which will bring in an additional revenue stream.
The business has two closely connected components. The primary component is the Learning Center. This facility will comprise a conference building, guest suites, an observatory, and associated amenities. In the off-season the guest suites and associated amenities will be operated as a hotel. The second component is the Wiracocha Rafting/ River Tampu operation (hereafter referred to as the Rafting and Tampu operation). This component will provide an additional revenue stream, especially in the initial development period. It will comprise a river rafting activity and a rest area for rafters with a café, warm soaking pools, restroom facilities, gift shop and associated amenities. The property for the WSFLC has been acquired and construction has begun. The property for the Rafting/River Tampu has been identified.
Future expansion (proposed for 2020) would include 4 satellite lodges (properties have been identified) and educational/cultural treks or hikes and a variety of activities for the instructors to learn from the local participants. A community service component could be added with the possibility of providing college credit for students.
