Unashamed of the Gospel of God
Scripture
Romans 1:16 (NKJV)
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."
Galatians 1:11-12 (NKJV)
"But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ."
Devotional
One of the reasons the Apostle Paul was unashamed of the gospel was because he knew its divine origin. The gospel was not a philosophy invented by men, a religious tradition handed down through the ages, or a clever attempt to improve society. It was the very message of salvation given by God Himself through Jesus Christ.
Paul understood that if the Sovereign Lord of heaven and earth had revealed this gospel, then it was worthy of bold proclamation and complete confidence. To be ashamed of the gospel would be to be ashamed of the God who authored it. The One who created the universe, sustains all things by His power, and reigns over every nation has declared that salvation comes through His Son alone.
In a world that often mocks biblical truth and exalts human wisdom, believers may be tempted to soften, hide, or apologize for the gospel. Yet the gospel is not ours to improve or defend through compromise. It is God's perfect message of grace, truth, and redemption. Because it comes from Him, we can proclaim it with humility, courage, and conviction.
When we remember who gave the gospel, our fear of man diminishes, and our reverence for God increases. The majesty of the Messenger gives dignity and authority to the message.
Reflection
Ask yourself: Am I ever tempted to be silent about Christ because I fear the opinions of others more than I honor the God who gave the gospel?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing the glorious gospel through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Forgive us for the times we have been hesitant or ashamed to speak of Him. Fill us with holy boldness, knowing that the gospel is Your truth and Your power unto salvation. Help us to honor Your Sovereign Majesty by faithfully proclaiming Christ wherever You place us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Devocional
Una de las razones por las que el apóstol Pablo no se avergonzaba del evangelio era porque conocía su origen divino. El evangelio no era una filosofía inventada por los hombres, una tradición religiosa transmitida a través de los siglos ni un intento ingenioso de mejorar la sociedad. Era el mismo mensaje de salvación dado por Dios.
Pablo entendía que si el Señor Soberano del cielo y de la tierra había revelado este evangelio, entonces era digno de ser proclamado con valentía y confianza absoluta. Avergonzarse del evangelio sería, en cierto sentido, avergonzarse del Dios que lo dio. Aquel que creó el universo, sostiene todas las cosas con Su poder y reina sobre todas las naciones ha declarado que la salvación viene únicamente por medio de Su Hijo.
En un mundo que con frecuencia se burla de la verdad bíblica y exalta la sabiduría humana, los creyentes pueden sentirse tentados a suavizar, ocultar o disculparse por el evangelio. Sin embargo, el evangelio no nos pertenece para modificarlo ni para defenderlo mediante compromisos con el error. Es el mensaje perfecto de gracia, verdad y redención dado por Dios. Debido a que procede de Él, podemos proclamarlo con humildad, valor y convicción.
Cuando recordamos quién dio el evangelio, nuestro temor a los hombres disminuye y nuestra reverencia por Dios aumenta. La majestad del Autor da dignidad, autoridad y poder al mensaje.
Reflexión
Pregúntese: ¿Estoy alguna vez tentado a guardar silencio acerca de Cristo porque temo más la opinión de los hombres que honrar al Dios que me dio el evangelio?
Oración
Padre celestial, gracias por revelar el glorioso evangelio por medio de Tu Hijo Jesucristo. Perdónanos por las ocasiones en que hemos sido tímidos o nos hemos avergonzado de hablar de Él. Llénanos de santo valor, sabiendo que el evangelio es Tu verdad y Tu poder para salvación. Ayúdanos a honrar Tu Soberana Majestad proclamando fielmente a Cristo dondequiera que nos hayas puesto. En el nombre de Jesús. Amén.
