Los sabores de la huerta 💚 LOCAL NAMES: Guandu (Panama, Colombia), Gandul (Puerto Rico), Guandul (Dominican Republic), Gungo Pea(Jamaica), Quinchoncho (Venezuela), Andu (Brazil) - Guandu has been cultivated for at least 3000 years. From India it travelled to East Africa and by means of the slave trade to America. The sturdy bush can grow in poor soil, and it is a nitrogen fixing plant. Also its deep penetrating root system breaks hard soil facilitating water pe*******on and aeration. Guandu is rich in protein. As a very complete food one could survive a long time eating only Guandu. 🌿 NOMBRES LOCALES: Guandu (Panama, Colombia), Gandul (Puerto Rico), Guandul (Rep Dominicana), Gungo Pea(Jamaica), Quinchoncho (Venezuela), Andu (Brasil). 🌿 📷
