Children grow up hearing how broken the environment is, how broken beyond repair. Plant strawberries together, make wild medicines, paint the sunrise. Show them proof that for every act of destruction, they can sow a seed, however small, of beauty.

If the sight of blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has the power to move you, if the simple things in nature have a message you understand, Rejoice, for your soul is alive.

Even though kids can handle much more then we think, now it's such a difficult time here in Panama.
No school, no friends to see, no outside time.
It's important to talk with the kids about their feelings and to create a time inside that is not including too much technology.
Last week -when we where allowed to spend some time outside after 3 months- I was happy about every little bit I saw out there.
While I watched the ants working, I thought to myself 'this little creatures, so well organized, knowing exactly what to do....how is possible human beings, the leaders of a country, don't?'
“The ants collectively form a highly efficient complex network.” 🐜🐜

Online classes can be tough, especially for young kids. Let them be active, so they are not just focused on the screen. ✍🏽👩🏼💻🎨📚

Today in some countries it's international children's day. A day to draw attention to the special needs of children and especially children's rights.

When kids ask questions, they learn how to gather information, think for themselves, and come up with solutions.
People think of questioning as simple, it’s a very sophisticated, high-level form of thinking. Questioning can help expand and open up the way we think about a subject or a problem, but questions also can direct and focus our thinking. One of the most important things questioning does is to enable people of all ages to think and act in the face of uncertainty. The act of forming questions helps us to organise our thinking around what we don’t know.
When we question authority, we ask:
“Am I being respected?”
“Is this fair?”
“What is the reasoning behind this?”
Questioning authority is asking yourself or a person in power why something is happening, and whether it should be happening. This is very different from disrespecting authority, because when you disrespect authority, you are not asking any questions.
Questioning authority is what instigates change and is what moves the world forward, if you teach your kids to question authority, you teach them to fight back against those who are taking advantage of them.
Encourage them. When they know how to question and to reason, they will be more likely to face authorities who will not always want the best for them, the way their parents do. Kids who question authority grow up to be the people who create change.
Another Monday..another week of cuarentena total. 61 days.
Can just get better, right?
Hope for change, day by day.

Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The needs for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility these three forces are the very nerve of education ✨👣💛

It shouldn't be that difficult to give us some information about what to expect. We would be happier, to know nothing will change in the next 4 weeks, then just waiting day after day for a information. Isn't this about us?
~No debería ser tan difícil darnos información sobre qué esperar. estaríamos más felices, saber que nada cambiará en las próximas 4 semanas, luego solo esperar día tras día para recibir información. No se trata de nosotros?~
