One of the greatest hopes of any educator is for a student with special needs to one day grow to the point where they overcome their limitations and can lead a normal life. Amazingly, Fast ForWord is capable of aiding in this process with some children, through its combination of linguistic training and neurological rewiring.

As a little boy, Matthew was curious and athletic. He liked to play soccer, swim, and stump adults with trivia he learned from the Discovery Channel. He wanted to know how everything worked, and we thought he might be an engineer one day.

In the field of language learning, it is common to hear reports and read article about how much harder it is to learn a new language after adulthood, and certainly data does show that younger learners have an advantage.
However, as we continue to look deeper, we find that there is more to the story. At MIT, scientists seem to think that adults have a much closer capacity to that of children than previously believed, but with additional factors getting in the way, from fewer opportunities for immersion to a lower perception of urgency, all of which lead to people being less likely to take on a new language as they get older.
And yet, there is good news: when an adult does take the time and put in the effort, they are more than capable of achieving fluency that rivals native speakers. With programs like Fast ForWord, it's easier than ever to get that exposure in a format that provides the kind of content the brain needs to learn effectively.
What kind of content do we mean? Follow BrainWorks Center and we will be back Monday to discuss one of the secret sauces of language learning!

Technology has forever changed the face of education and is becoming ever more present in the lives of children around the world. But with these new tools come new risks and dangers, from privacy to cyberbullying to malicious actors of all kinds. In a world like this, we at BrainWorks believe in the importance of teachers being at the forefront of understanding how to communicate the risks and dangers of Internet use.
As the next generation of tech-exposed teachers takes over, it will be exciting to see the improvements that take place in teaching students healthy habits, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

The benefits of meditation are hardly a secret. As increasing research has shown, the mental discipline and concentration that comes from regular meditation provides a holistic set of benefits that goes beyond a simple reduction in stress levels.
It is worth mentioning that the same is true for any activity that produces a meditative calm, or a zen-like trance of concentration and flow. From arts and crafts to athletic activity, many activities have the potential to bring about these positive benefits.
However, these benefits are not automatic. It takes practice, dedication, and patience during an initial period of developing the necessary skill to perform the activity instinctually. And this is where Fast ForWord has an advantage. It not only provides an opportunity to enter a flow state during use, it trains the user with the sort of attention and immediacy that only comes from an automated program. And because it is based on the most advanced research available on education and neurological growth, you can rest assured that any user will not only have the opportunity to access this flow state in the classroom or at home, but also learn and improve their English to a degree that all but guarantees academic success later in life.

As educators, it is a common experience to feel like the carefully designed learning space you have worked on for so long is not producing the desired result in your students. You provide them with detailed knowledge, and test them rigorously, but they seem to learn slower than they should.
It is possible that you are neglecting a powerful tool from a discipline that's a lot closer to education than you might think.
A game designer is responsible for more than just creating mindless entertainment. As an interactive medium, a game requires players to be engaged, to learn and abide by specific rules, and to make decisions with a particular goal in mind. These are exactly the same outcomes we all want in the classroom, so why not take a few pointers?
Best of all, Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant Plus were designed around many of these principles as well, making our product a perfect addition to any classroom looking to implement these strategies.
Think Like a Game Designer to Create Meaningful Learning
A game designer routinely creates engaging, compelling, and repeatable experiences that keep players riveted for hours. These experiences don’t happen by accident or by some cosmic alignment; instead they occur because of a specific methodology and the application of game design thinking.
