Ringing in your ears… that high-pitched buzzing that shows up out of nowhere…
Ayurvedically speaking, this is often a Vata imbalance.
Vata rules movement, the nervous system, & the space element… so when it’s disturbed, the senses get overloaded & the mind can’t settle.
👉Things that make it worse:
• Skipping meals or eating at irregular times
• Too much caffeine
• Not enough good fats
• Stress, anxiety, constant “go go go”
• Lack of sleep
• Cold foods & cold drinks
• Overexposure to screens, noise, or stimulation
• Traveling, especially by air
• Eating dry, crunchy, light foods (chips, crackers, popcorn)
👉What helps restore balance:
• Warm, grounding foods like soups, stews, and cooked grains
• Healthy fats (ghee, olive oil, avocado)
• A consistent routine… especially meals and sleep
• Warming spices like ginger, cinnamon, cumin
• Reducing caffeine and stimulants
• Lowering screen time and sensory overload
• Slow breathing or simple grounding practices
• Warm oil on the feet or ears before bed (Ayurvedic ear oiling)
• Staying hydrated with warm water or herbal teas

This has been one of the hardest lessons life keeps placing in front of me…
In relationships I held onto too long… the way I was trying to control the outcomes of my kids… how I was perceived by the outside world…
It showed up in every area — love, parenting, reputation, health, money…
But the moment I let go of needing to understand everything… the moment I stopped gripping so tightly to how it should look… I started to feel free…

This path only works when I stop forcing… and start trusting…
And even though surrender feels scary… trying to control everything hurts a whole lot more…
