🌟 A new year, a new vision, and a heart full of gratitude.
Five years have passed since I started the Dolphin Online Preschool, and along the way, my project has grown into the Dolphin Learning Studio. This journey has been filled with learning, dedication, and so much joy.
I’m deeply thankful for my husband and our four girls, whose love and encouragement have supported this work every step of the way - and for the families and all the other special people who believed in my little project, and helped it grow.
As I step into this new year with a renewed vision, I’m excited for what’s ahead - more curiosity, more play, and more meaningful moments of learning.
Here’s to a new year of growth and opportunities.

It has been an incredible experience for me in Reggio Emilia, Italy, at the International Study Group this past week, both on a personal and professional level. I flew to Reggio by myself as the preschool owner and only teacher of the Dolphin Online Preschool. As it turned out, I was the only representative from Panama, so it was exciting to share stories about Panama with the other participants.
I started the week, feeling like the child who doesn’t know where to sit in the cafeteria. It was very humbling. By the end of my week, I had connected with many educators from all over the world. Plus, I made new dear friends from Ireland. I will always treasure the week we had together.
Professionally, I grew so much, got inspired, and submerged myself into a world of beauty. This could sound strange to some maybe but being in Reggio Emilia and taking part in the sessions at the Loris Malaguzzi International Center puts this lens on all who visit.
Here are some quotes that stuck with me that sums up the experience:
- The Reggio Emilia approach is not a method but a way of being.
- We need to see the world through the eyes of a child, with the perspective of poetry, passion, purpose, intention and love.
- It is not I and YOU, it is US!
- Teachers are researchers of the highest quality, searching for new meaning.
- Education needs to spread peace.
- Good schools secure human rights
- Loris Malaguzzi believed that it is essential for children to live spontaneously, creatively, and conduct research on their experiences while teachers observe and learn.
I learned on a deeper level about the 100 languages, project work, digital technology, what teaching and learning in elementary school looks like, how children with special rights are integrated and much more.
All of these experiences have left an imprint on my heart and opened my mind to see the beauty in every child, every person I encounter and the world around me.
Thank you to the Reggio Children Foundation! I can’t wait to be back!! What an incredible experience it has been! 🇮🇹

It’s been meaningful and inspiring at the Loris Malaguzzi International Center for the past 2 days. Here are some of the highlights so far 🙌
1. Visit to schools: On an organized visit, I went to the Rodari Infant Toddler Center. It was a wonderful opportunity to view the classrooms, the provocations and the current work of the children. Deep conversations took place about the materials and pedagogy. Photography was only allowed outside.
2. Digital Spaces: Digital technology is not a language but an environment. Digital technology offers children possibilities to go further with their research.
3. Gender Difference: In conversation with children, adults should try to hold open as many opportunities as they can to offer time to the children to explore and celebrate differences.
4. It has been wonderful meeting like-minded new friends here. So grateful for all the great conversations and good times together.
5. There is so much beauty around. A nice stroll through the city is refreshing.

I have arrived in Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy to immerse myself in one of the world’s most renowned Early Childhood and primary pedagogies. 🇮🇹
There are 400 educators from 58 countries taking part in this Study Group! I am the only educator who came from Panama.
Follow my posts this week as I endeavor to share my experiences with you.
Feeling grateful and excited! 🤗

Book of the Week! 📚
“They All Saw a Cat” by Brendan Wenzel is a charming story about a curious cat on an adventure. It meets various animals, and we get to see how each animal views the cat. The book teaches young readers that everyone looks at things in their own way. It’s like seeing the same thing from different angles, showing us how diverse and interesting perspectives can be! The book is visually captivating through stunning illustrations and has minimal yet impactful text. It is sure to spark valuable discussions and encourage empathy and an appreciation for the diversity of perceptions in the world. I highly recommend it! 🐱
Ages 3-7

Making thoughts visible is like giving wings to imagination.🪽
H. is documenting his findings after he engages in a Science experiment. He had poked sharp colorful pencils through a plastic bag filled with water. The water didn’t leak. What kept the water from spilling? The water leaked when he pulled the pencils out. So much to capture on paper! Can you see the pencils and the spill in his mark makings? Encouraging reflection and expression is about honoring the journey of discovery in every child. 🌱✨

Emma and Anna are playing with shaving cream. It's not just enjoyable; it helps children develop sensory awareness, fine motor skills, and encourages creativity. They can also practice writing letters, numbers, and shapes in the cream, making learning playful and interactive. The unique texture offers a calming experience for some children seeking sensory input. All you need is foam shaving cream and some utensils for scooping and spreading.
*Please ensure shaving cream is safe for children with sensitive skin or allergies. Supervision necessary.
