The "big star" for "Earth, Pi, and the Sky " this week was a replica of the Saturn V Rocket. This Rocket was built almost entirely out of recyclable materials by two of our high school participants, Zach Houston and Gabriel Trollip. Amy and I used the rocket with the students at Escuela Octavio Lopez Pascal to help students get a better understanding of a rocket's launch process and Newton's Laws.
The Saturn V was the vehicle responsible for delivering the first astronauts to the Moon. The Saturn V Rocket stood 110.6 meters (363 feet) tall and weighed 2.8 million kilograms (6.2 million pounds). Our replica missed out on both those measurements, but it is an effective learning tool.
So, "Earth, Pi, and the Sky" wants to give a big shoutout to Zach Houston and Gabriel Trollip for a job well done. Great job guys and thank you.
One last note, not only was the rocket and great learning tool, but it was also a great "portrait partner. Meet our two, new, "brave" astronauts who want to venture to the Moon... Rose Castillo and Emitza Del Carmen Barrera. Two amazing, caring, and loving teachers. Thank you, ladies for all that you do.

Wednesday was another great day for "Earth, Pi, and the Sky. Amy and I were privileged to be guests at Escuela Octavio López Pascal, as they were honored with the "Chiriqui Province Award for Outstanding Education" from MEDUCA. This prestigious award recognizes the school that provides its students with not only an all-around great education but provides opportunities for their students that create young, well-rounded, critical thinkers.
We would like to congratulate this fantastic group of teachers, staff, administrators, students, and a supportive community. We are honored that you have embraced us as part of your school family and we know that you have all worked hard and deserve this honor. If you see any of these fine people in the community, be sure to shake their hand and congratulate them on a job well done.

It has been a good week for Amy and me and "Earth, Pi, and the Sky." First of all, it has been moving week, and Amy and I are finally getting to move into our new home. While it is not totally finished, it is to the point that we have a place to sleep, a bathroom, and most of our boxes moved, so we can begin putting stuff where it belongs. Pictures will be posted when it is completed.
Next to follow are the telescope pads, the firepit, and the outdoor classroom.
However, just to give a little taste of our "corner of paradise", here are pictures of the view we woke up to this morning and the Sunset we viewed as we ate dinner.
Now it won't be long before you are invited to nights of Stargazing. We can't wait.

"Earth, Pi, and the Sky" wants to share some of the projects our team members completed while waiting for NASA'S decision on their Rover proposal.
The members were asked to use their critical thinking and creative skills to make a rocket, an alien, or a robot figure, using as much recyclable materials a possible, spending as little money as possible. We are impressed with the end results. What do you think?

On Tuesday, Amy and I, along with Carlos and Rose Castillo, our Community Liason and Interpreters, had the honor of meeting with Raulino Peña Padilla, Executive Director of the Guna Tribe and Linares Garcia, Representative of the Guna Nation. It was a highly productive evening, a time of great conversation, friendship and sharing ideas.
"Earth, Pi, and the Sky" is proud to announce that we will be working closely with the Guna Nation, sharing our STEAM Education with their teachers and students. Plans are in making to develop distance learning programing; teacher training; and on-site visits to provide a quality product for their community. In addition, we at "Earth, Pi, and the Sky" are going to have the privilege of learning about the Guna culture; their stewardship of their land; and their steps to improve their environment.
We are excited for this partnership and are looking forward to a long and strong friendship. It is a great STEAM Educational that will benefit the young people of both communities.

Amy and I had a great time yesterday as "Earth, Pi, and the Sky" returned to Escuela Octavio Lopez Pascal in Los Naranjos. It has been quite some time since we were last there.
Having the opportunity to work with the great staff and the motivated students was wonderful. Watching as these young minds designed their rockets and identified the specific parts is exciting for us. We are so happy to be back and look forward to our continued partnership. Thank you for making "Earth, Pi, and the Sky" part of your school family.

"Earth, Pi, and the Sky" wants to give a big shout out to Miss Sarah Martin, the team leader of our Rover team. Sarah is a cast member of the BCP Presents performance of "Mama Mia".
Tonight Amy and I had the privilege of attending the play. It was fun watching "our" Sarah's enthusiasm, excitement, smile, and joy throughout the performance. We our proud of you and congratulations on a job well done.
For all our followers, if you are looking for a nice night out, we urge you to go catch a performance of BCP's "Mama Mia". It will make you smile and laugh and you will leave with a happy feeling. Thank you Sarah for inviting us.
