As part of our Unit on Trade, Grade 3 students became entrepreneurs, researching customer needs and wants, collecting data, and creating business plans to organize their products for the Mini Market.

Through this hands-on experience, students explored the roles of producers and consumers while developing key Approaches to Learning skills such as research, communication, and collaboration. They also demonstrated Learner Profile attributes by being Inquirers, Thinkers, and Communicators.

We are proud of our young entrepreneurs for turning their ideas into action!

What. A. Day!
Music, Art, Design, Science, Humanities, Languages, Literature, Maths and PHE. Our Secondary students planned it, led it, explained it, hosted it and absolutely smashed it! A whole year of learning, creativity, teamwork and community packed into one unforgettable morning. This was IB.
This was ABIS. Thank you to our students, staff and parents for making it such a special way to end the year. Have a wonderful holiday!

Al Batinah International School is proud to celebrate the official opening of its new Science and Innovation Centre.

The Centre was officially opened under the patronage of His Excellency Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and was made possible through the generous CSR support of Sohar Aluminium.

Designed as a purpose-built environment for practical investigation, scientific inquiry and innovation, the Centre will provide our students with exciting opportunities to develop their scientific knowledge and skills.

Importantly, its impact will extend beyond ABIS. We look forward to using the Centre to support future outreach programmes and educational opportunities for students and schools across the wider community.

Our sincere appreciation goes to His Excellency, Mr. Said Al Masoudi, Sohar Aluminium, and everyone who contributed to bringing this important project to life.

It is always an excitement to welcome our Grade 6 students into their very first MYP Science class and watch their enthusiasm grow.

As part of Moving Up Day, students spent the day experiencing MYP learning. In Science, they explored the importance of lab safety through inquiry, asking thoughtful questions, making observations, and applying their understanding in hands on investigations to identify simple acids and bases.

It was wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork, and confidence develop throughout the session. Many students left excited and eager for more opportunities to explore, experiment, and discover.

Our Grade 6 students have just wrapped up their "How We Organise Ourselves" unit and what a fantastic experience it has been.

Working in pairs, students created their own restaurant concepts from scratch. They designed menus, planned commercial kitchen layouts, and developed their French culinary vocabulary. The unit culminated in a MasterChef-style challenge where students prepared their signature dishes and presented them to a panel of judges entirely in French.

We saw many wonderful examples of the IB Learner Profile in action throughout the process.

Risk-Takers
For many students, cooking independently for the first time required real courage and resilience.

Communicators
Students confidently presented and explained their dishes in French using the language skills they have developed throughout the year.

Caring
Throughout the challenge, students supported one another, collaborated positively, and worked together under pressure.

We are incredibly proud of our young chefs and entrepreneurs and the way they applied their organisational, communication, and thinking skills in such an authentic and engaging context.

Félicitations à nos incroyables chefs!

At the weekend, we had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of our Grade 12 students at the Radisson Hotel, Sohar. Surrounded by family, friends and teachers, it was a wonderful evening of reflection, celebration and pride. Graduation is more than the end of a school journey, it is the beginning of a new chapter. We enjoyed sharing memories, listening to inspiring speeches and recognising the hard work, perseverance and growth that have brought our students to this important milestone. As they now join our growing alumni community, we look forward to following their future successes and seeing the positive impact they will make in the world. Congratulations, Class of 2026. We are incredibly proud of you and wish you every success in the exciting adventures that lie ahead.
