Day 2 was filled with excitement as the race concluded on the ABA field, with the entire school turning out to cheer. The energy was electric, and our runners delivered once again—Aqil took Gold, Loay earned Silver, and Daniel and Marat secured 7th and 8th place. A special shoutout to our girls’ team—Elvira, Vibha, and Sara—who raced with heart and made us proud.

A huge congratulations to our boys’ team—Aqil, Marat, Loay, Daniel, Burhan, Mateo, Ayaan, and Adam—for finishing 1st overall! Kudos to our dedicated coaches, Mr. Adrian and Ms. Alli, and to our Athletics Director, Ms. Sarah Harman, for their leadership and seamless coordination. Fostering Belonging at ABA

This week, we were honored to host Jacinta Williams, renowned DEIB consultant, who led impactful sessions with our leadership team and community members. Through her guidance, we explored ways to foster belonging and deepen intercultural understanding within our school community.

With EdLiberate supporting our DEIB journey, the Facilitating Change program equips us with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to drive meaningful change. Through interactive learning, participants strengthened their capacity to lead DEIB initiatives at all levels.

Together, we continue building an inclusive and supportive environment—because ‘you belong here!’

As part of the ABA Belonging Project, we successfully launched ‘One School, One Book’ today, featuring Not Little by Maya Myers. Students and faculty will engage with the book to explore themes of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). Across all grade levels, students have been connecting with the story through age-appropriate activities such as discussions, role play, case studies, and creative projects. We are cultivating a positive school culture where everyone in our community feels valued, empowered, and connected.

As part of ABA’s outdoor education program, Grade 9 students embarked on an exhilarating Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Bronze expedition in the deserts of Oman. This adventure challenged students to test their survival skills as they set up camp, managed provisions, cooked meals, and navigated tough terrain. Working together to overcome obstacles, they built resilience, independence, and teamwork—essential skills for the real world. A special thank you to Outward Bound Oman (OBO) for training our students and organizing this incredible experience.

At ABA, we value hands-on learning that builds character, confidence, and a sense of adventure. The DofE International Award provides students with the opportunity to push their limits, embrace new challenges, and develop practical life skills. Congratulations to our Grade 9 students for their determination and success, and heartfelt thanks to our faculty for their guidance and support in making this journey truly unforgettable.

Our story

The American-British Academy (ABA), founded in 1987, is one of the premier international schools in the Arabian Gulf region. It is a private, non-profit co-educational day school that offers a demanding K-12 English-language curriculum to expatriate students in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman.

With more than 62 different countries represented in a school community of around 1040 students, the ABA promotes academic excellence within a context of respect for and understanding of cultural diversity.

The ABA draws experienced teachers from 20 nations to teach challenging courses and provide a supportive international learning environment for students. Most teachers come from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States and New Zealand, but educators from countries in South America, the Middle East, Asia, and continental Europe form a sizeable contingent and all contribute to the international character of the school.

ABA is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and as an "IB World School," authorized by the International Baccalaureate to offer the Primary Years Programme (Grades 1-5), the Middle Years Programme (Grades 6-10) and the Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12).
