SPELLIGATOR – 2013 is a spelling challenge aimed at students from private schools. As we are aware that with the onslaught of technology, modern computing and texting, today’s youth have lost touch with their ability spell correctly. Technology has so much taken over us that as long as the word sounds correct and is understood by the peer group then it is accepted as correct. But there are words (

(like r- are, d – the, dat – that, frnds – friends and so on) that are not accepted in formal communication channels. So are we creating a generation of children who simply don't know how to spell correctly?
