Push Ups
Push Ups are one of the most versatile and easiest exercises to do (ok they may not be "easy" for some) - By "easy" we mean "can be done anywhere and no equipment needed" - to help you gain strength and muscle tone.
Did you know there are well over 50 different variations of Push Ups!? One mens health site suggests over 80 different variations! Epic!!!

Self Talk:
Do you ever find yourself having a conversation... with yourself?
Self Talk is normal.
However - often it can be our ego, creeping in, trying its best to keep us safe.
You may notice the dialogue is quite negative with lots of "You can't do this!", "Who are you kidding, your not good / fit / strong / smart enough to do it", "I don't know enough"
The negative creeps in when we are in a space of fear. The good thing is you don't have to stay there.
Next time you want to achieve something, that's outside your comfort zone, and that "negative nanny" comes in to hinder you ask yourself these 3 things:
1) Have other people done this before? ✔️
2) Were they successful? / Did they complete it?
3) Are they still OK?
In most instances you will come up with YES YES YES... then this can give you FACTS that it can be done and that your negative self talk is coming from a space of fear. The reason it rings so loud sometimes, is because fear evokes an emotion. But you know what else evokes an emotion...
Doing that thing you want to do and getting to the finish line / completion. And that. . . That feeling right there... is one you will remember for ever and wonder why on earth you were ever trying to talk yourself out of it in the first place.

In the 1990s Gary Chapman came up with, what I believe is, a wonderful and simple communication tool for couples.
My husband and I learnt these many years ago and they still get used some 16 years later. I truly believe this small tool has help us keep our connection, communication with one another.
There are 5 Love Languages are:
Words of - "You look beautiful/handsome"..."I love you"..."You mean the world to me. Send your partner something unexpected a text or a little sticky note with your appreciation / affirmation.
Physical Touch - Is a non verbal use of the body, holding hands, cuddle, or perhaps a simple kiss. It doesn't need to escalate (unless you both want it to 😉).
Receiving Gifts - Is based around thoughtfulness of making your partner a priority. Expressing gratitude for your loved one by giving them a thoughtful gift.
Quality Time - Just that! Make time for one another. Uninterrupted / focused conversation. This can be challenging for new parents/parents of little ones. It is important you make the time for one another without the little ones at your heels!
Acts of Service - A way of lightening the load for your partner. Do something for them that they normally do everyday for you/the family - for example make them breakfast, bring them a coffee/tea, make them dinner etc.
Once you have read through these, take the time to list them 1 to 5 with 1 being highest on your priority, 5 being important but not as important as #1.
This is a communication tool and activity both you and your loved one need to do to understand each other a little more. In most cases you will find your love language ranking is different to your partner and that's OK.
Where a lot of break down in relationships happens is when we tend to give our partner the attention that we desire and not their preferred love language.
Sometimes on of these will feel empty for your or your partner. All you need ro do is tell the person "my tank is low in affirmation/quality time" ... whichever it may be. This is an invitation for the partner to know you need a little more right now.

Do you value yourself enough to live the life you have dreamed of living? Or are you stuck in the day to daily grind of ground hog day? Hoping, waiting, wishing for "more time", or that one day "it" will happen for you, whatever "it" is.

If there is one thing I have learnt over the years, it is that you cannot sit idol and wait for the world to come to you. You need to value yourself enough to make the life you want happen!
■
Valuing yourself will mean you have high self-esteem. You will have direction, goals, boundaries, standards and ultimately - you will have purpose and meaning to live your life.
■
I see (and hear) so many people complain about their life "my job sucks, its not what I ever wanted to do", "I'm not happy with my body, I need to lose weight", "the kids have so much on, I don't have time for myself", yet when push comes to shove... they are still in the same miserable position and complaining about the same thing 12 months later. These people are trapped in the day in day out ground hog day grind and have very little self worth. They don't value themselves enough to do something for themselves!

So I ask, what do you want out of life? Do you value yourself enough to make it happen?

Top tip: when you value yourself - when you live with boundaries, standards, goals, direction... you thrive. You are the conductor of your orchestra. When your self worth is low, you let others conduct you. Is this the life you want to live?
