Thank you all for the love and support you have shown to my first published book “Postcards I Never Posted” (available on Amazon and Flipkart). It truly means a lot to me.

I’m happy to share that a second part—a sequel—is now being planned, inspired by all of you and your encouragement.

Here’s the first article for the upcoming book. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it

Rome, Laughter, and 80,000 Echoes

Standing in front of the grand Colosseum, I felt like I had stepped into another time. I visited Rome in May 2016—almost a decade ago now—but the memory is still so clear. The weather was pleasantly warm, perfect for walking and quietly taking in the beauty of the city.

The Colosseum was truly breathtaking. Even in its broken, aged form, it stands strong and majestic. Built nearly 2000 years ago during the Roman Empire, this massive amphitheatre could seat around 80,000 spectators at one time. Just imagine the scale of it—thousands of people gathered together, watching gladiator fights, games, and grand public events. Today it is silent, but if you pause for a moment, you can almost hear the echoes of that roaring crowd.

I kept observing the half-attached superimposed arches, the textures of the stone, and the marks left by time. It made me wonder how such an enormous structure was built without modern technology. The Romans were incredibly skilled in architecture and engineering, and the Colosseum is a perfect example of their brilliance.

Rome itself felt like a living museum. Every street had something to offer—ancient ruins, beautiful fountains, charming corners, and a sense of history everywhere. The past and present exist together so naturally there.

And then came a small, funny moment that still makes me smile. My daughter, Namrata decided to click a picture of some Italian police officers standing nearby—perhaps because they looked so smart and stylish! But the moment they noticed, they quickly gestured “no photos” and firmly shook their heads. Poor Namrata had to lower her camera immediately, and we all burst out laughing. It was such a light, human moment in the middle of so much history.

That trip remains very special to me. It was not just about seeing a famous place, but about feeling history, sharing laughter, and creating memories that stay with you forever. Even today, when I look at this photograph, it brings back a beautiful mix of wonder, warmth, and joy.

On the morning of Poila Boishakh in Muscat, everything felt a little different. The sunlight was soft over the rocky hills, and a gentle sea breeze drifted in quietly, while somewhere in the distance, the city stirred awake in its calm, familiar way.

Here, the new year isn’t marked by any big celebrations—it’s felt in small, quiet moments. It isn’t just about a date changing; it’s about finding the inspiration within ourselves to begin a new year again with renewed resolutions and hope.

And somehow, the sunlight seemed a little brighter after that. đŸŒŧ

When Baba talked about the Jagannath Temple in Digha, we decided to go. The temple is new and beautiful, built in a style similar to the one in Puri. The temple stands tall, inspired by the architecture of Puri, with its rising shikhara and detailed carvings. Set against the sea breeze, it has a calm and graceful presence.

Still, I felt that the Jagannath Temple in Puri is much more powerful and grand. It has a long history and a deeper spiritual feeling. Digha’s temple is lovely, but Puri feels more special to me.

But what truly made this visit good was going there with Baba. Walking inside the temple together and sharing that time made it meaningful. It was not just about the temple—it was about being there with him.
