At what age should you introduce books to your babies?

I would say as soon as you can!

From 3 month onwards,  its usually high contrast books to engage kids and read out to them. Beyond 6 months, they will start to observe the colors in the books. I'd say my son was interested in saying out loud the objects in the books, which kind of Kickstarted his speech!

Around 1.5 years onwards, they can start to understand simple concepts of colors, shapes, numbers.

It would be a great idea to include books in their daily routines. Like read to them regularly,  hand it to them, let them get used to the touch and feel of it - make it accessible to them and try to relax when some get destroyed in the process!

আমি বলবো, যত শীঘ্রই সম্ভব!
শিশুর বয়স যখন ৩ মাস, তখন আপনি উচ্চ স্বরে বই পড়ে শুনাতে পারেন। ৬ মাস পার হতেই, তারা বই এর নানা রং লক্ষ্য করে। আমার ছেলে আবরার, উচ্চ স্বরে বই এর নানা বস্তর নাম বলতে পছন্দ করেছে। তার মুখের বুলী ও ফুটে এই কারণে!
১.৫ বছর বয়স থেকেই তারা নানা রকম রং, আকৃতি, সংখ্যা ইত্যাদি বিষয়ে ধারনা পায়।
আপনার শিশুকে নিয়ে দৈন্দিন কর্মে বই পড়া অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা বেশ ভাল একটি আইডিয়া। যেমন, তাদের পড়িয়ে শোনানো, কিংবা হাতে দেয়া যেন তারা বই এর ছোঁয়া টা বুঝতে অভ্যস্ত হয়। চেষ্টা করা যেন তারা সহজে বই গুলো হাতের কাছে পায়। আর হ্যা! তার মাঝে অবশ্যই ঠান্ডা মাথায় কিছু বই এর অবস্থা নাজেহাল হতেও দেখতে পারেন একদম রিলাক্স হয়ে!

I'm Nushrat and I have a three year old boy , Abrar! We have been homeschooling for just over few months now!

But prior to this, we always engaged in hands-on play!

There are plenty of benefits to this:

A. It helps to reduce/eliminate screen time!
B. It helps developing motor skills
C. It helps developing a sense of the language, color, patterns.
D. It helps the child create a connection to the environment

Have you tried hands-on activities with your toddlers? Did you find it beneficial?
