When I moved to Oman, I learned how dirty lambs and goats are. I have a lot of trouble thinking about Mary's lamb going to school.
It did give me an even higher appreciation for how much shepherds love their flocks, though! They love them, even though they're dirty. 🥰

I'll be honest, I don't call myself "fluent" because I don't think there's any single threshold that determines fluency. But I don't have very much difficulty in conversations anymore, and I think that's something!
Even though this is a familiar sound for many languages, because ق is not, that means we get casual about the weight of the sound of a ك . It's important to differentiate between the two sounds! It's the difference between "heart" ( قلب ) and "dog" ( كلب ), or our beloved sultan ( قابوس ) and a nightmare ( كابوس ).
