IMCO Maritime Department – Training & Industry Engagement ⚓

Our students participated in a series of practical sessions designed to strengthen real maritime competencies.

Junior cadets completed familiarization training on shipboard culture, TRB, safety, and bridge routines with Capt. Kais, Capt. Darshana, and Capt. Eslam, supported by IMCO Alumni 2/O Husam Ahmed Al Jabri.

Senior students attended a specialized session on Maritime Pilotage and Port Approach Operations delivered by Maritime Pilot Capt. Emre Erim Çolak, gaining valuable insights into real navigation practices.

Marine Engineering students also joined hands-on workshops by IMCO Alumni Eng. Yousuf and Eng. Ashraf, including dry dock operations and maintenance practices.

NU_IMCO Dean Capt. Rajkumar Palanivelu, Capt. Arife Tugsan Isiacik Colak, and Eng. Hamid Reza Soltani published a research paper titled “Optimizing Oman’s Blue Economy through AI-Enhanced Marine Spatial Planning” in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science.

This work reflects IMCO vision of contributing to Oman Vision 2040 by supporting sustainable Blue Economy development, smart maritime planning, digital transformation, and evidence-based decision-making for the future of Oman’s marine and coastal sectors.

         Sustainability Research Maritime DigitalTransformation

In collaboration with the Sohar Parents Council, IMCO welcomed students from Sohar and Sheikh Khalfan bin Jamil Schools (North Al Batinah) for an engaging campus visit 🌟 From an introduction at the college theater to exploring academic programs, facilities, and campus life, students gained valuable insights into studying at IMCO. The visit also included a tour around campus and a stop at the counselling exhibition in the main hall 👏📚

IMCO hosted 55 students from Asmaa bint Al-Harith School in collaboration with Sohar Parents Council. The visit included tours of simulators, workshops, and facilities, followed by a presentation on academic programs. The students showed great interest and engaged actively, concluding the visit with a group photo with the Dean.

 

 

استقبلت الكلية 55 طالبة من مدرسة أسماء بنت الحارث بالتعاون مع مجلس أولياء الأمور في صحار. شملت الزيارة جولة في أجهزة المحاكاة والورش والمرافق، تلاها عرض عن البرامج الأكاديمية. وأبدت الطالبات اهتمامًا كبيرًا وشاركْنَ بفاعلية، واختُتمت الزيارة بصورة جماعية مع عميد الكلية.

IMCO participated in the Media Briefing organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources in Muscat.
The session highlighted key national initiatives in food security, sustainable marine resources, and the development of the agriculture and water sectors in line with Oman Vision 2040.
During the meeting, IMCO presented its education and training capabilities and shared its interest in contributing to fisheries training and capacity building. The Ministry expressed interest in this initiative, and a follow-up meeting will be arranged accordingly.
IMCO remains committed to supporting national priorities through meaningful collaboration with government and industry.

استقبلت كلية عُمان البحرية الدولية اليوم وفداً من الكلية العسكرية التقنية.

وفي مستهل الزيارة، رحّب العميد الكابتن راجكومار بالوفد الزائر وقدّم لهم نبذة تعريفية عن الكلية وبرامجها الأكاديمية ومرافقها التدريبية.

كما قامت الكلية بتنظيم جولة حول مرافق الكلية وورش العمل ومحاكيات قسم الهندسة البحرية
