You don’t need to be a safeguarding expert to understand how the organisations your child attends are keeping them safe.

You can ask about their policies, how staff and volunteers are checked and trained, how children and parents can raise concerns, and what happens when a concern is raised.

This Child Safeguarding Week, we’ll be sharing free, practical resources to help parents and caregivers understand what to look for, what questions to ask and what good safeguarding looks like.

We've got something special to share as we count down to our 30 Year Celebration Gala.

Acclaimed New Zealand band L.A.B will be performing live at the Gala on Saturday 3rd October, at the Ōtautahi Lounge, One New Zealand Stadium.

This year marks 30 years of He Waka Tapu supporting individuals and whānau across Waitaha Canterbury, and we wanted the evening to reflect that. Expect a three-course dinner, a live auction, and now, a performance from one of the Aotearoa's most loved bands.

The evening also supports Project Hauora, our campaign for a new integrated health and wellbeing facility in East Christchurch.
More than 60% of tickets have already sold. If you'd like to be there, individual tickets and tables of 10 are available now.

This September, we’re moving for something bigger than fitness.
To recognise Su***de Prevention Month, we’re challenging our Thistle Fit community to MOVE FOR MENTAL HEALTH for 30 days — starting 5th September.

For just $30, you’ll commit to moving your body for 30 minutes every day for 30 days. 🚶🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️🧘🏼‍♀️🚴🏼‍♀️

And the best part? It doesn’t matter what movement looks like.
A gym session, a walk, a run, a swim, yoga, a bike ride, dancing around your room — whatever gets you moving counts. 🤍

💚 $30 entry fee will be donated to the Mental Health Foundation

💚 Thistle Fit will DOUBLE whatever our members raise and donate it to Mental Health Foundation
