WASP Centre Update: Apologies we will finish our the week at Youth Hub due to some delays with our Bench Top production. It is being cut and should be fitted Wednesday at which point our Plumber and Electrician will finalize those with our builder finishing off. We will still hold our AGM at the centre as previously advised. No children please for safety reasons

WASP Update : The new kitchen is coming along very well but will take a few days extra for the electrical work to be completed. With this in mind we will stay at the Youth Hub until Wednesday 28th May and will re-open the doors of WASP on the Thursday 29th May at 7am to welcome you all back. New Location Monday 19th May - 26th May . We have been to have a look today at the location of the Woodend Youth Hub, 38 Woodend Rangiora Road. There is a carpark which we are hoping to get keys for for drop off and pick up, however do be mindful that it is near the school playing field so there will be children around. Below are pictures of the location so you are aware of where to find us. Each Day a staff member will take children to the school grounds, taking our new entrant children directly to class. Each afternoon our staff will be at the meeting place by the new Entrant class rooms playground. if its raining we will be under the shelter. Any children in the junior school must meet at the New Entrant playground (Either Amanda or Dy will be on pick up) Parents will drop off directly to 38 Rangiora Woodend Road and sign in child as usual and pick up after Oscar at 38 Rangiora Woodend Road and sign out as usual. We will be taking children to see the temp wasp this afternoon.
Breakfast and Kai will look a little different for our week's adventure with breakfast being choice of 3 cereal /milk and afternoon tea being pre packet snack bags with a fruit. Please make sure children bring water bottles.

PARENT NOTICE. Monday 19th May WASP Will start renovations on our WASP Centre. WASP will be based out of the Woodend Scout Den on Woodend Rangiora Road just behind the school. We will confirm after school meet up location with you on Monday with a staff member on school grounds to accompany younger children to the Den.

Parent Teacher Interviews 5th March 2025. School will close at 12.30 tomorrow for interviews. School will provide care up till school normal finish time. As many of you would have noticed, WASP is starting to look really good with our play equipment having repairs and our garden having some TLC from Max at Life Style Construction & Landscape. We are very lucky to have such great support from this local business who are doing good in their own back yard. Max and his team are giving time and skills at no cost to support our not for profit centre. Please if you have any landscape or building work contact them. Camp children on way back to wasp now.

Wow. It's camp week and we are excited to be taking the children away. Below is a list of items for children to bring. In addition they need a booster seat or car seat if required by law to travel in one. Children need to be at the wasp tomorrow no later than 11. Please make sure any medicines are handed to staff and appropriate paperwork completed

Children Require

Lunch box for day one. Water bottle

Home baking to share for am/pm tea /snacks

Sleeping Bag/pillow case

Swimsuit & tshirt (or rash shirt)

Appropriate Clothing with additional change of clothes for each day

Torch

Slippers

Towel (one for swim one for shower)

Toiletries – shower hair teeth

Sleeping teddy

Overnight nappies if required (please advise staff)

Device /book

Spending money for ice creams and hiring trikes at parents discretion

Bikes can be brought we will have a trailer for them at own risk and helmets must be worn.
