Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads — and to all those wonderful people who take on both roles! 💙🎭

Our tamariki have had lots of fun this afternoon using puppets to send a very special Happy Father’s Day message to all the dads and special father figures in their lives.

We hope your day is filled with all the important things… cuddles, laughs, handmade treasures, possibly a sleep-in too.

And of course, we hope all the dads managed to receive their Father’s Day chocolates… and that they somehow made it home without being mysteriously eaten on the way! 👀🍫

From all of us at Peanuts Early Learning Centre, we hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day ( on Sunday )!

👀 I may look like “junk”… but we call them loose parts!

One of our tamariki spotted these resources around our playground and, together with his friends, transformed them into a hut.

Loose parts are open-ended resources that can become anything and everything during play — the possibilities are limited only by children’s imaginations!

Our older tamariki enjoyed another wonderful adventure in our big backyard! 🌳

They ventured into our tree-like cave, climbed, explored and collected sticks as part of a fun scavenger hunt. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, imagination and sense of adventure shine as they connected with nature and made the most of our outdoor environment. 🍂

After all that exploring, we gathered together for morning tea and enjoyed a warm hot chocolate to keep us cosy on a chilly morning.

Oops… it’s been a minute!
We’ve been a little flat tack behind the scenes, so our social media game has been somewhat… questionable.

But we couldn’t let this gorgeous Google review slip by without sharing it.
We absolutely love hearing what our tamariki and whānau experience while they’re with us, and this one really made our day.
We’re not the flashest, fanciest or shiniest centre around — and honestly, that’s kind of the point. We’re all about connection, nature, a homely environment, letting children be children, and supporting them to grow in their own time and in their own way.
And if you’re a current or past whānau of ours…
If you’ve ever thought “You know what, they’re actually doing a pretty good job” — we’d love for you to tell us!

A Facebook or Google review is always hugely appreciated and helps other whānau get a little feel for what we’re all about before they walk through our doors.

No pressure. No bribery. Definitely no promises of baked goods.

Just a little nudge from the team.
Thank you to all the whānau who continue to trust us with their most precious little people. It means more than you know.

🥑 Guess what? We've got avocados... AND enrolment spaces! 🎉

Believe it or not, they're both a little easier to come by at the moment!

Over the past few week's we've celebrated some of our tamariki heading off to school and others making the exciting move into our over-twos room. While we'll miss them, it means we now have a few spaces available for some new faces to join our Peanuts whānau.

Come and see why our little centre has such a big heart. We'd love to show you around, answer your questions, and introduce you to our amazing team.We will also still honour any new enrolments with 6 WEEKS FREE.

Send us a message or give us a call to arrange a visit before our spaces & avos disappear...

We were so lucky to have Becs from Mercury Bay Museum visit us again today for another wonderful mat time with our tamariki!

Becs shared a beautiful Matariki pukapuka with us, sparking lots of curiosity and conversation. After the story, the children enjoyed a fun hands-on activity that helped bring the learning to life.

A huge thank you, Becs, for sharing your time, knowledge, and enthusiasm with us. We always love having you visit and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Mānawatia a Matariki! 🌟

We've certainly packed a lot of celebrating into one week at Peanuts. Between kite flying, face painting, decorating biscuits, pyjama day, star paintings, arts & crafts, milo and toast, making pizza's, listening to many stories, planting kūmara, making lanterns, and finishing the week today with yummy vegetable soup and homemade buns, we're all heading into the long weekend with full tummies and happy hearts.

We're not sure what the children enjoyed most – the biscuits, the face paint, or the excuse to wear pyjamas to Peanuts – but we've loved every minute of it.

A friendly reminder that Peanuts will be closed tomorrow for the Matariki public holiday.
Wishing all our tamariki and whānau a restful and meaningful Matariki.

May the year ahead be filled with hope, connection, and plenty of reasons to gather around the table together.

( re sharing once again )
🚨 Breaking news: Peanuts' teaspoons and forks have now officially been added to the endangered species list.
They have an uncanny ability to hitchhike home in lunch boxes & bags and disappear into kitchen drawers.
Please have a quick peek through your child's bag and return any runaway cutlery to Peanuts. No questions asked... we just want to reunite them with the rest of the herd! 🥄

Our teaspoons at Peanuts appear to have grown legs once again and a fleet of 40 strong have legged it far and wide 🦵
Can you please check your children's bags and return any rouge spoons please !
Many thanks - the Peanuts Kaiako ( and lonely forks )

Pyjama Day Reminder – This Monday!

Don't forget to come to Peanuts in your cosiest pyjamas this Monday as we celebrate Waipunarangi, one of the Matariki stars.
Waipunarangi means "water that pools in the sky" and is the whetū connected to rain and the life-giving water that nourishes the whenua. It reminds us of the importance of rain, the water cycle, and the way water connects all living things.
With rain in the forecast next week, it seems Waipunarangi is joining in our celebrations! 🌧️💙

Please remember to pack a warm jacket and suitable footwear for outdoor play—we'll be embracing whatever the weather brings!
