Today is Acknowledge Your Principal Day, and it was a real privilege to sit down with Pat Newman, Principal of Hora Hora School.
For the past 27 years, Pat has led Hora Hora School with dedication, compassion and a genuine commitment to helping young people reach their potential. That's an incredible contribution to our community, and one that deserves to be recognised.
Our principals do so much more than manage schools. They support students through challenges, encourage teachers, work alongside parents, and help shape the next generation of New Zealanders. It's a role that often goes well beyond the classroom.
Thank you, Pat, for taking the time to share your journey and your thoughts on education, leadership and what makes Hora Hora School such a special place.

Wow! Palmer's Garden Centre recently donated HHS's Environmental Co-Ordinator-Mrs Knight these beautiful fruit trees. It was very generous of Palmer's. Nga mihi nui Palmer's. Mrs Knight's vision is for us to have a sustainable garden with fruit for the puku. These trees will flourish with our own compost and 318 careful weeders!
