Hurupaki Community Kapa Haka special session in celebration of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori! 🖤❤️🤍

Nau mai, haere mai e te whānau! Come along for a fun evening together filled with kēmu, waiata, kai and whanaungatanga as we celebrate our beautiful reo Māori.

🌊 Huge congratulations to our amazing AquaBots teams! 🤖💦

Yesterday, 19 of our talented students headed up to Kawakawa to compete in the Regional AquaBots Competition, putting their engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to the test. Across a total of 5 intense challenges—including the Underwater Obstacle Course, Harmful algal blooms (HAB) Monitoring, HAB Mitigation, Quiz, and Team Presentations—our tamariki represented our school with incredible pride!

We are super excited to announce that our school took out both first and second in the Primary section! 🏆

🏆 1st Place – Aqua5

A special shoutout to Jed, who was an essential part of the team throughout the build and preparation process leading up to the event!

🥈 2nd Place – Human Calculators

Drivers/Competitors: Zac, Daniel, and Adrian

A special shoutout to Jacob, who was also a key team member during all the hard work leading up to competition day!

We are so proud of all 19 students who stepped up, drove their ROVs, and showed fantastic support for one another on the day. Ka pai tō mahi, team! 🌟👏

Ngā mihi nui to Byron (Zac's Dad) and Sancia for being our swimmers - without you the competition couldn't have happened. Swimmers had the important task of setting up and resetting all of the obstacles in the pool.

🎨✨ HURUPAKI ART EXHIBITION & AUCTION ✨🎨

What a wonderful evening celebrating the creativity and talent of our Hurupaki tamariki!

We are incredibly proud of the artwork our ākonga created and the care, perseverance and imagination they put into bringing their ideas to life. The standard of work on display was amazing, and it was so special to see our tamariki’s creations showcased and celebrated by our kura community. 🖌️🖼️

A huge ngā mihi nui to our whānau who came along, supported the exhibition, placed bids and shared such lovely feedback about the students’ work. We loved hearing how impressed you were by the quality, creativity and presentation throughout the exhibition.

A special thank you also to our kaiako and support staff for the time, patience and encouragement that went into helping our ākonga create pieces they could truly be proud of.

Events like this are only possible through the support of our whole kura community, and it was beautiful to see everyone come together to celebrate the creativity, mahi and talent of our tamariki. ❤️
