EXCITING NEWS!!! NEW SPACES are NOW OPEN for tamariki to join and be part of our kindergarten whānau! If you’ve been considering early learning for your tamaiti, we’d love to welcome you in and show you what makes our kindergarten so special.

It's been a while since our last Facebook post as these days we use the more secure social media option of Storypark for our whānau.
Firstly a photo of our happy team with Santa (check out the beautifully constructed recycled materials Xmas tree:) before Louise leaves us to enjoy her retirement! She wishes the Comrie Park whānau both present and past all the very best of love and luck in the future and says ###Thank You ### for all the warmth and the kindnesses she has experienced here in the last 5 years :)
We have a new Head Teacher appointed to lead the Comrie team from January: Melany Oliver who previously led the Forest View kindergarten team!

Next we do have some more very exciting news to share with you. Thanks to Foundation North, the Oxford Trust, Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA)and the extremely generous Wheels day donations from our whānau, we have constructed a bespoke swing frame for our tamariki in the top of the playground! This will be such an asset as swinging is a really important movement all children need to build balance and strength!
It wasn't quite finished in time for an opening at our Christmas party so we had an impromptu ribbon cutting ceremony the following day!
Meri Kirihimete to our lovely Comrie Park Community! Have a joyful family time, stay safe in the sun and keep those gardens mulched and watered!

We here at Comrie Park Kindergarten are proud to support the petition requesting the Whangarei District Council urgently prioritise traffic calming measures around Matarau School and Comrie Park Kindergarten.

Not just cars, but huge stock trucks and trailers as well as super-fast tractors whizz around the corner, giving us all nightmares! Crossing the road with no view of approaching traffic at speed is taking your life in your hands, and playing on the tennis courts is an especially risky endeavour when one comes barreling down the hill towards us!

When we explained to our tamariki the concept of a petition, they were keen to add their names, so with the permission of their whānau we will be sending these off to the council. If you would like to add your name to the petition please drop in to Comrie Park Kindergarten kindergarten or Matarau School and do so!
