Imaginary Play-Our Very Own Mitre 10!

What a wonderful morning of imaginary play we had this morning!

We’ve set up our very own ‘Mitre 10’ inspired station, where tamariki can pretend to be builders, shoppers, gardeners and helpful DIY experts!

This kind of play allows tamariki to recreate experiences they see in the wider world, use their imaginations, develop language and social skills, and learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

It’s always wonderful to see how a familiar place can inspire so much creativity, conversation and learning! 💛

Happy Friday! What a fantastic week we have had at Tindalls Garden!

We have had such a wonderful week filled with exploration, creativity, art, crafts and lots of sensory fun! 🎨✨

The tamariki have been busy getting creative, trying new experiences and learning through hands-on play. There has been so much curiosity, imagination and laughter throughout the week!

But most of all… we absolutely LOVE racing around our tennis courts on the bikes! 🚲There have been plenty of speedy laps, big smiles and friendly races as we zoom around and practice our balance, coordination and confidence ❤️

We have loved exploring creative art this morning! 🎨

Open-ended art with recycled materials gives tamariki the freedom to create, imagine, and explore in their own unique way. There’s no right or wrong outcome, just endless opportunities to develop creativity, confidence, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for caring for our environment by reusing resources.

This morning was filled with imagination and excitement as we heard:
“I’m making a monster!”
“This is a robot!”
“My Mum will like this on the fridge!”

It’s always wonderful to see the pride tamariki take in their creations 🤗

This week at Tindalls Garden, we have been proudly celebrating Samoan Language Week! 🇼🇸
Our tamariki have been learning about Samoan culture through music, language, and art. Together, we have been creating a beautiful collaborative siapo cloth, inspired by traditional Samoan designs and patterns.
We have also been enjoying learning and singing the Samoan song ‘Savalivali’ helping us explore new words and celebrate the richness of the Samoan language.
It has been wonderful to see our children embracing new learning experiences and celebrating the diverse cultures that make up our Tindalls Garden community.

Fa’afetai lava! ❤️💙
