The teams next game is the final against PNGHS with a new date that is yet to be confirmed due to the Senior Derived Examinations.

Laser Plumbing are proud to sponsor the Cullinane College U15 Boys Rugby Team as they head to Wellington to compete in the Hurricanes Rugby U15 Tournament over the next few days.

It’s been great to see the boys put in the hard work, with Grant coaching the team and helping them prepare for this tournament.

It’s been a busy few months for Jaimie Connelly (Year 13) who has obtained some awesome achievements. Over the last few months:

At the Canterbury Judo Open on the 16th of May 2026

🥇She won gold in the Junior Women’s -63kg division.
🥈Silver in the Senior Women’s -63kg division.

At the Wellington International Judo Open on the 27th of June 2026,

🥇She won gold in the Junior Women’s -63kg division.
🥇Gold in the Junior Women’s Open.

Most recently, at the South Islands Judo Championships on the 29th of August 2026,

🥇She won gold in the Junior Women’s -63kg division, taking home the South Island Junior Women’s -63kg title.

🥈Silver in the Senior Women’s -63kg division.

Cullinane College Girls’ 1st XV Rugby

What: Manawatū Secondary Schools Open 15’s Competition

Who: vs Palmerston North Girls’ High School 1st XV

Where: Ongley Park- Palmerston North

When: Wednesday 2nd September 2026

Game Time: 4:00pm

Tomorrow the Cullinane College Girls' 1st XV Rugby Team will play their fourth round robin game against Palmerston North Girls’ High School in the Manawatū Secondary Schools Open 15’s Competition.

Parents/caregivers, students' have been provided a run sheet on Google Classroom about how tomorrow will work.

Cullinane Boys took on Inglewood College and St Peter’s College today in two tough games.

We took a little while to fire in both games, with both teams getting out to strong leads early.

🔥 CULLINANE BOYS vs INGLEWOOD 🔥

Once we figured out where Inglewood’s key shooters were, we started to work our way back into the game. Heading into the 4th quarter, we found another gear, scoring 6 points in the first 50 seconds and forcing an instant timeout from Inglewood. That gave us the momentum we needed, and we continued to build our lead right through to the final whistle.

🏀 FINAL SCORE:
Cullinane 85 – 81 Inglewood

🏀 CULLINANE BOYS vs ST PETER’S 🏀

Next up was St Peter’s College, a team we had beaten twice during the Manawatū competition.

This time, however, St Peter’s came out strong and built a lead that we couldn’t recover from. Their defence was effective, putting pressure on our shots and making it difficult for us to find our rhythm.

Credit to St Peter’s, they played a great game and deserved the win.

FINAL SCORE:
Cullinane 57 – 85 St Peter’s

We still have THREE games to go before the top two teams from our pool are decided. The door to Nationals is still open, but it isn’t going to be easy.

🔷CULLINANE GIRLS VS TE KURA O KOKIRI🔷

The girls first match up of the comp was against Te Kura O Kokiri, was abit of a rollercoaster of a game. Girls started with signs of pre tournament rust and nerves but came back strong to close out a close fought 1st half. Unfortunately for the girls they were unable to stay in touch in the 2nd half and eventually lost 77-34.

🔷CULLINANE GIRLS VS INGLEWOOD COLLEGE 🔷

After getting the first game out of the way. The girls were set ready to make amends. After a a slow start, and a tactical timeout call by coach Justin Gush the girls were set back on track having a brilliant final 3 quarters running away with it 56-32

The girls are feeling good going into there final three games. Like the boys, they still have a chance to make nationals. Both teams are looking forward to day 2.
