ā€œCan we have a Slip ā€˜n’ Slide? Yes! Such a great day for this fun activity! There was already plenty of water falling from the sky (and the hose).
Together we laughed, slipped over and flew through the bubbles on our fronts, backs, sides and knees.

Last night we celebrated Robyn, who is coming to the end of her formal teaching years after an incredible amount of time teaching, and transitioning into our Kindergarten Admin position.

This is our Marie McFarland team, current and past graduates haha. (Charlene & Craig) x

With a little planning behind the scenes, and with Robyn’s daughter visiting from Adelaide, the wider whānau were coordinated, including her brother, his wife and children, and her father. Robyn was then driven to dinner after singing with her choir group at Majestic Square.

We were lucky to have visits from our Senior Teacher Katie, and coincidentally Mandy was in town and came to acknowledge Robyn and the crew.

It was a beautiful ā€œsurpriseā€ for our beloved Robyn and a well-deserved recognition of all that she has done in education. Robyn’s commitment to the kindergarten profession, her passion for tamariki, and her dedication to teaching over so many years has shaped countless children, families, and teachers along the way. But especially, this acknowledgement was for what she has meant to us as a teaching whānau since being together. We are so grateful that we still get to keep Robyn in our team, and we know she is going to be an incredible Admin.

We also surprised her with a special acknowledgement at our Christmas party on Monday at the Boys and Girls Gym Club, in front of all our whānau and tamariki.

Acknowledging Robyn in front of her three grandchildren, her husband, and her children was incredibly special to us. Even though Robyn never wants any fuss, it felt important to honour her surrounded by the people she loves most.

I hope I’m still rocking it like you, Robyn, when I’m 70. You are a true inspiration. We love you.

Arohanui,
The Marie McFarland Crew x

šŸŽ„ Kindy Christmas Party šŸŽ„
Monday 15 December
(1 more sleep yay!)

We will begin gathering on the mat at 9:40am, as we’ll be hopping on the pahi at 10:00am to head to our destination.

A friendly reminder, whānau, we’ll be having a shared kai. If you’re able to contribute, that would be lovely, but kei te pai if not. Please still come along and enjoy the smiles and excitement on the faces of your tamariki and their friends šŸ’š

šŸŽ One small change:
Presents will now be shared back at kindy around 1:15pm, while enjoying an ice cream, the perfect way to top off an already awesome day šŸ¦

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa!

A huge thank you to all our wonderful whānau who came along to create your 'Whānau Boards' with us on Tuesday afternoon after session. It was so special seeing tamariki and their loved ones working together, sharing smiles, and laughter as you celebrated your whakapapa and the special people (and pets!) in your lives.

Our tamariki are so proud to have these beautiful boards on display, they help build a strong sense of belonging, identity, and connection here at Marie McFarland Kindergarten.

Thank you again for your time, aroha, and creativity.
We loved having you here, and what an awesome afternoon it was!

Arohanui,
