π΄ NISS EQUESTRIAN β TAUPΕ π΄
A huge congratulations to Amber and Alex, who represented Whanganui Girlsβ College at the North Island Secondary Schools Equestrian competition in TaupΕ last week.
This is a massive event, and both girls were competing on relatively new horses, making their efforts even more impressive.
Amber had a fantastic week, finishing 6th out of 74 riders in the Arena Eventing and producing two outstanding Show Jumping rounds, placing 2nd and 3rd out of 42 riders. An awesome set of results and a great reward for the work she has put into developing a new partnership with her horse.
For Alex, the week was all about learning, adapting and building confidence with a new horse. She competed across Dressage, Arena Eventing and Show Jumping, and continued to improve as the week progressed. We were really proud of the resilience and positivity she showed, continuing to get back out there and give each round her best.
Equestrian sport can be incredibly challenging, especially when building a relationship with a new horse, and both girls can be very proud of the way they represented WGC throughout the week.
A massive thank you also to the parents and whΔnau who made the trip to TaupΕ and supported the girls throughout such a big week. These opportunities simply wouldnβt happen without you.
And we were very excited to see our riders looking sharp in the new WGC saddle blankets, kindly donated by the Auret family. Thank you for your generous support! ππ
