Stars Education Whanganui Inc. STARS Education Whanganui Inc. Specialised Teaching, Assessment and Resource Services (Formerly SPELD Wanganui Inc.) Generally, we work one-on-one with students.

Supporting people in our community with DYSLEXIA and other learning challenges for over 30 years. At STARS Education Whanganui our teachers are all qualified, experienced classroom teachers, who have additional qualifications in the field of Specific Learning Disabilities. Additionally, our teachers participate in regular professional development workshops. Teachers and assessors are all police ch

ecked at regular intervals. All students are assessed thoroughly by our specially trained assessor before participating in the STARS programme. Our programmes are individually tailored to the specific needs of the student. Our methods are based on the latest in scientific and educational research. Our set-up is flexible to accommodate the needs of students and teachers. We work in schools, in our STARS rooms in Community House, and in teachers’ and students’ homes—both during and outside school hours. We run courses to better inform parents, classroom teachers, teacher aides and others about Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Disabilities

We also provide social gatherings for students, families, teachers and other STARS supporters to meet in an informal and friendly way

Our AGM for the 2018 year will take place on Friday, November 16th at Braemar House, 2 Plymouth Street, Wanganui.

AGM itself is schedule to start at 5:30pm followed by light refreshements, and a talk from one of our members on Kruger National Park in South Africa.

All welcome, and do bring a plate of finger food for supper. If coming, do let us know so we know how many to cater for.

Note that while meeting is open to all, you do need to be a member if you want to vote, or stand for committee. Subscriptions for the year are now due.

Subscription renewal form, and copies of the annual report will be emailed/posted on request.
