This morning ngā tamariki enjoyed using mini construction vehicles to explore numeracy concepts. As they worked to transport the corresponding number of rocks to each written numeral, ngā tamariki were supported to strengthen their number recognition and one to one correspondence.

This morning ngā pēpi enjoyed exploring the pipes and balls. They placed a ball into the top of the pipe and looked down to watch where it went. As they noticed the ball coming out the bottom, they followed it, walking over to collect it before returning to the top to have another turn. It was wonderful to see ngā pēpi developing their curiosity and problem solving skills as they began to understand that the ball travelled through the pipe and came out the other end.

Yesterday, ngā tamariki worked hard baking and decorating delicious cupcakes for our special yellow themed menu in celebration of Daffodil Day.

Today, the wait was finally over and they were able to enjoy them as part of our afternoon kai. It was wonderful to see the pride on their faces as they enjoyed the special treat they had helped create.

This morning, we welcomed a very special four legged friend to Smart Start by the name of "Sid." Ngā tamariki were delighted to meet Sid and enjoyed lots of pats and cuddles with him.
This was a wonderful opportunity for ngā tamariki to build confidence and show kindness to our furry friend.

A huge thank you to all our wonderful whānau who made it along to our Cross Country today. Ngā tamariki have been practising so hard in preparation, building their confidence, stamina and determination as they challenged themselves to run the course. Having whānau there to support and celebrate their efforts made the day extra special. Thank you for helping us create such a wonderful community event.

Ngā tamariki have been busy this week preparing for our Daffodil Day celebrations. Today their mahi involved creating beautiful daffodil flower crafts to contribute to our vase. Each flower was beautiful on its own, but when we brought them all together, they created something truly special, a wonderful reflection of how much we can achieve when we work together. Ka pai ngā tamariki! What a beautiful way to celebrate Daffodil Day and show the strength of collective contribution.

Cross country prep is in full swing. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for our Cross Country races at 10.30am....

Cross country prep is in full swing. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for our Cross Country races at 10.30am. The event will last approximately 30 minutes at the most.
We can’t wait to see our tamariki giving it their best and enjoying the fun. We look forward to having our whānau there to cheer them on.
