Kia Ora! 🤩 We’ve had some technical difficulties with this page but they’re all sorted now so HI, we’re back on your screens 👋🏼 Tū Kaha has had some MAJOR changes, friends! Our team is now a little smaller with new roles all around, and our worksite has changed, too! It’s been a busy couple of months but we’re all good here & are having a great term with some awesome students. We hope you’re all doing well!! 🙌🏻 This photo was taken on the first day of term- the Tū Kaha ladies (+ Charlie) having a cup of tea in our lovely new work space! ☕️ Might have to frame it for the office wall! 😁

✨ YOUR LIFE HAS PURPOSE ✨ Our final session of the Shine course before our celebration & it’s always a winner 😍 We listen to the very famous Martin Luther King speech, (side note- no matter how many times I hear it, it still hits me every time! So amazing). We then spend the rest of our time getting our craft on and making dream collages!! The students let us know early on in the term what their passions/interests may be & we ensure we have some pictures and words to suit everyone! Love seeing their faces light up filling their page with things that light them up, and chatting away to us and one another!! 🤩 A feel good hour all around.

After our 8 week course with the tamariki we host a fun graduation celebration where we have an hour of fun! We recap our learnings, eat pizza, drink juice & play games, and we also give out these cool graduation packs! 🍕🧃🤾🏽‍♂️ The Strength pack contains their journal (in the hope that they refer back to it over time & hold onto those key messages), a certificate (to acknowledge their hard mahi), a labelled drink bottle & pen & pencil, a couple of lollies (YUM) and some awesome fridge magnets! 🤩💪🏼🍬📖

✨ MEET THE TEAM ✨ We are all super excited to be welcoming Rhys to the Tū Kaha team!! Rhys has recently decided to take a new career path and train to be a primary school teacher, & will be working part time for us as well! 👏🏻 We know that the Strength kids are going to have heaps of fun learning alongside Rhys & gaining from his knowledge and experience! 🤩 Outside of his work life, Rhys has a lovely wife & two gorgeous girls he loves to spend time with, and he does love to play a bit of golf, too ⛳️ Rhys is excited to get out in the community & help build our tamariki up! We know he’s an awesome addition to our team & we’re already so thankful for him!! Stoked to have you onboard 🙌🏻

Picture this… 💭 I have a $10 note. If I tell my $10 note that it’s actually only worth $5, does it change the value of the note? If I say to the note, “You’re worth nothing!” does it mean that when I go to the shop I can no longer buy anything with it? You can say whatever you like to the note. You can crumple it up in your hands, stand on it, rip it in half, but guess what? The worth of the note DOES NOT CHANGE 🤯 Guess who can be likened to this note? You & I. People can say mean things to us and treat us unfairly & unkindly. However, our worth is within us and cannot be changed, and ya know what? We’re actually priceless ☺️ Let’s not forget this truth! 🙌🏻 Have a wonderful day, friends 👋🏼
