A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Pool 4 School this year! It has been fantastic to see everyone enjoying the games, developing their skills, and improving throughout the season — especially your stance, grip and bridge.

🎾 WHS TENNIS – TERM 4

Due to exams, WHS Tennis will not be running in Term 4.

However, if you’d still like to get out on court, Whanganui Tennis Club welcomes players of all ages and skill levels — whether you’re picking up a racquet for the first time or already have some experience!

Winter Tourney Week comes to an end for another year!
Hard fought games, long life memories and fun were had by our teams this week.
Congrats to our Year 13’s playing their last games for WHS 💚💛🎉🎉

A huge thanks to our coaches, managers and staff who have supported our teams this week! 🥰🥰

⚽️Junior Football Boys finished a fantastic 6th in the Hillsdene Junior Tournament after losing 2-0 to a strong Rutherford College in the 5/6 playoff. It was also a nice bonus to be the only team to take points from eventual winners Tauranga Boys College! An impressive first appearance at a national tournament for our junior boys.

⚽️Our 1st XI football boys played our final game this afternoon vs Hobsonville Point Secondary School and secured another win 3-1. We finish a respectable 9th out of 32 teams at a tough tournament. Lost one game all tournament, job very well done.

⚽️Football Girls
Won today vs St Mary's 1-0
9th overall also! Unlucky not to make the top 8 in a tough pool.
Great tournament for the girls.

🏑Hockey girls
Our girls finished the tournament in 18th position, with a 3-1 loss to Howick College today. It was a fun week away with plenty of laughs, memories and, of course, hockey, having both the boys and the girls teams at the North Shore. Well done girls — a great finish to the season! 🏑🏑🏑💚💛💚💛

🏑Boys Hockey
Boys played hard. Today’s game came down to a penalty shoot out and the boys came away with the win to place 11th in the tournament.

🏐Netball A1
Our team finished 20th out of 32 teams in A Grade.
A huge week for the girls with lots of tough close games where they managed to win six out of the ten games played.

🏇🏻Equestrian is split into 5 different riding classes and the Quiz. We had a team of 6 girls compete at NISS

🏃‍♂️🧭 Orienteering Success for WHS! 🧭🏃‍♂️
Today, two WHS teams competed at the Manawatū Schools Orienteering Teams Championships, with some fantastic results!

🥇 1st Place – Junior Boys: Bruce McGregor, Sean Frieslaar and Xavier Brotherton

🏅 4th Place – Junior Boys: George McGregor, Levi Standen and Dexter Brotherton

An especially impressive achievement was that both teams successfully found every control, earning the highest combined score across all grades! 👏🔥

Congratulations, boys — a fantastic effort and a great result for WHS! 🎉

Huge congratulations to our Girls Badminton team who finished today winning Gold in the Division 2 at NZSS Badminton in Porirua. Their week of games has been outstanding.
They played wonderfully, encouraging each other all the way and gave it their all and it certainly paid off. Thank you to Mr Hall and Miss Kirk for supporting the girls all week.

All of these scores got team points which is great.

Unfortunately our last rider Livi Heerdegen has had to pull out of the competition due to her pony gaining a back injury.

Quiz: Hannah and Aimee did well on their quiz scoring 100% and 80% respectively
Lily and Olivia were given a very hard test about the enzymes in a horses stomach but still managed to score 50% for the team.

Boys 1st XI Football
Boys football only played one game today in the later stages. Played against Kerikeri High School, another good team from Auckland. Our boys won 2-0, and played some very nice football.

Boys 1st XI Hockey
Boys hockey had a great 2-0 win over Hauriki Plains College.

Girls 1st XI Hockey had a great game today. Came away with a 3-3 draw against Long Bay College.

Netball A1 Day 4
Girls came away with 2 great wins
29-28 Win v Upper Hutt
34-29 Win v NPGHS
Tomorrow’s game is 11.30am v Inglewood High for a chance to finish 17th or 18th out of 32 teams.

Junior Boys Football
Boys junior football played a very impressive Westlake, losing 1-5. Very physical game
They then played Liston College in their second game winning 2-0. This means they play for 5th/6th place in their final game against Rutherford College.
