We have been reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have been following along by feeding the food items to our own hungry caterpillar.

The children have been enjoying playing Candy land, this game helps them recognise their colours and helps to develop social skills such as taking turns. We have also been outside exploring and love visiting our local playgrounds.

Learning all about floating and sinking. It was great fun to test out some objects from around the house to see if they would float or sink.

Well, it appears Squiggles the Elf has returned. He got a bit tangled up trying to decorate the tree last night. Perhaps the children can help finish decorating the tree today.

It’s been school holidays so we’ve had some older kids join us for our adventures. We enjoyed making a jungle in a jar at the library and even got out to fly some kites!

Last month our theme was storytelling. We enjoyed spending lots of time at the library choosing different books to bring home to read. We also used our story stones to sing old MacDonald had a Farm. Our felt shapes helped us to follow along with the story of the very hungry caterpillar.

Some of our latest adventures. The children are all showing an interest in painting lately so we will be sure to have a lot more opportunities to be creative and explore different ways to paint

We are jumping for joy that all of our weekly activities are back up and running! It’s been so good getting back into our routines

Summer is here and we have really enjoyed watching our caterpillars turn into butterflies. We are also attempting to grow our own beans in a plastic bag on the window to watch how a seed grows. Due to the heat we have been spending a lot of time inside with the air con or enjoying water play when we can.
