🦠😷Kia Ora e te whānau, a few weeks ago we had a special visit from our public nurse, Nurse Marianne. She brought in some cool little reminders for us on how we can keep ourselves safe from those yucky germs, and how we can stop the spread of germs.

Every hour ngā kaiako stop for a moment to check in with ourselves and our state of regulation. We are highly trained in understanding that if we're regulated we can support ngā tamariki with their social and emotional needs. Ngā tamariki are now reminding us kaiako, and have also started to join in. Notice the spiderman breathing here? Breath in and out like spiderman shooting a web 😌☮️✌️

We have a seriously large swing collection at Pākaraka kindergarten. Swings promote core strength, balance, coordination, and provide calming, rhythmic sensory input that aids emotional regulation. They support vestibular and proprioceptive senses, improve spatial awareness, and encourage social skills like turn-taking. They also promote risk taking, and as you can see, ngā tamariki enjoyment in pushing their physical and mental boundaries in a safe way. We could go on and on, but either way we love swings!!!

Haere mai back to kindergarten today!!! It's been a wonderful day connecting back with ngā tamariki after the Summer break. We had a bit of mahi to do in the garden and enjoyed spending time together today. We look forward to having the rest of ngā tamariki back and also looking forward to all the learning we will do as a whānau this year 🥰
