Wellsford School will not be seeking the one off school donation, Mathletics and Reading Eggs fee, and activity fee in 2020. We have opted into the Government donations Scheme for next year. This means the government will pay the donation on behalf of families.

We will however, still seek donations from parents to cover expenses relating to activities such as camps, trips, visiting shows, etc. As a donation, these are not compulsory. They are optional. However, if we do not receive sufficient donations for such events, we may need to cancel the event. We will give you notice of these events, and seek a pledge from you regarding a donation. If we receive sufficient pledges the event will go ahead. If not, the event might be cancelled. Once we decide to go ahead with an event, every eligible child will be able to attend regardless of the amount they donate.

By the end of 2020 we will know how well this scheme works and make a decision whether to remain in the scheme for 2021 or not.

School uniforms are compulsory for all Wellsford School students.
These may be purchased at the school.

Kia Ora all,
Welcome to Term Two, and an extra welcome for all our new families with children starting in Room 16. This is a very different start to school for you and I, therefore please do not hesitate to make contact.
If your child has turned 5 during the lockdown, or soon will, you may be wondering what to do about your child starting school.
It is not absolutely necessary for a child to start school until they are 6, so don't worry. It is fine to wait until schools are open again.
When we are open give us a call at school, to remind us when your child is coming, and then give us a day or two to reorganise the new entrant class to accommodate the new children that are beginning their school journey. Then we will be good to go.
I will continue to update and post some ideas for the next couple of weeks while lockdown level 4 continues.
