Kia ora everyone,
Today, the tamariki made some yummy garlic bread! This hands-on activity helps to grow their motor skills and math plus science learning. This yummy bread was made with flour, yeast, water, garlic, parsnip, black pepper, and margarine.
What recipes do the tamariki enjoy baking with their whānau?

Kia ora,
What an exciting start to the week! On Friday, our black turf was under constraction and this will continue for the next couple of weeks. Our tamariki have been super excited as they watch the digger and ensure the builders are doing a great job.
I wonder if the tamariki have been talking about the digger at the home? (At the centre, the little yellow digger series has become popular over the last couple of days.)

Thank you to everyone who attended our Kirihimete party a couple of weeks ago. We hope you all had so much fun!
(The tamariki have loved seeing their Kirihimete photos on display)

Last month, we celebrated Halloween and Diwali!
The tamariki enjoyed activites such as face painting, henna, colourful bindis, baking, temporary tattoos, and pukapuka (books) based on either Diwali or Halloween. (plus many more fun-filled activities!) We hope everyone had a fun October!

What a lovely sunny day! A reminder that we are now wearing our sun hats and wearing sunscreen every day throughout term 4 and term 1.
Please ensure your tamaiti has a sun smart sun hat that can be left at the centre, we will wash these once a week so you do not need to take it home.
If your tamaiti requires their own sunblock, make sure this is provided to the centre, named asap. Otherwise, centre sunblock will be applied.

We think our supporters are extraordinary, as they help us to pay for the ordinary things that ensure that our paramedics are ready to respond to any medical emergency.

Kia ora tīma,
The sun is starting to make more of an appearance so we will start sunblocking and wearing hats again from the start of October.
A sun protective hat:
is made of a tightly woven fabric which doesn't let the sun's rays through,
shades your face, nose, neck and ears. A brimmed hat or cap with flaps, as used by our centre, offers the best protection.
has a deep crown broad-brim with a minimum brim of 6cm,
feels comfortable – cool, but firm around the headband,
made of a darker colour will keep out the sun's rays better,
stays on in the wind

What (mostly) lovely weather we have been having! Our tamariki love being outside and exploring Te Taiao (The Natural World) around them. We are excited to have our nature walks start up this month! Nature walk is where we take a group of our tamariki (3 and 4 year olds) for a walk around our community!
