Welcome to the page of the Families Commissioner and the Social Policy Evaluation and Research Unit, or Superu for short.
Our purpose is to increase the use of evidence by people across the social sector so that they can make better decisions - about funding, policies or services - to improve the lives of New Zealanders, New Zealand's communities, families and whanau.

Moderation policy
Thank you for being part of the Superu community. We value your feedback and comments on issues related to families and whānau. Our aim is to ensure this platform is inclusive and safe, and a place on the internet where you can find lively and intelligent discussions.
We welcome debate and dissent, but personal attacks against authors or other users and trolling and abuse will not be tolerated. Such posts will be removed.
Keep your comments relevant. Be aware that you may be misunderstood, so be clear about what you’re saying, and expect that people may understand your contribution differently than you intended.
We accept posts that differ in opinion to ours but will remove them if they misrepresent Superu or the Families Commissioner.
We will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia or other forms of hate-speech, or contributions that could be interpreted as such. We recognise the difference between criticising a particular government, organisation, community or belief and attacking people on the basis of their race, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
We will remove any content that may put us in legal jeopardy, such as potentially libellous or defamatory postings, or material posted in potential breach of copyright.
