Room one made deodorant this week as part of a science and positive puberty lesson. We have learnt that children smell different during puberty because they sweat out different chemicals, not just the usual water and salt. Bacteria love these chemicals. Hopefully our deodorant works!!!!

Our students had fun taking some taster dance classes run by Footstep's Dance company. They were very engaged and learnt some very cool moves. Great for fitness, coordination and well- being!

Today, seven children from St. Patrick’s received the sacrament of Confirmation. Each child was blessed by Arch Bishop Paul Martin and received the Eucharist for the first time. It was a special Mass and lovely to see whanau, the children and the parish community celebrate this wonderful occasion together.

Room one taught us how to care for our teeth today at Hui. We definitely don’t want any plaque monsters in our mouths. Parents, please encourage your children to eat less sugar and scrub their teeth, at least twice a day.

Don’t forget to come to our Book Fair when you pick the kids up. Still lots of cool books for sale. Only $1:00 for 3 books. It was lovely to see the children so keen to buy books.

Three of our senior boys visited the Chelsea club in our Community today, during their lunch hour. They played a beautiful piece of music each on the piano, to the residents and staff. It was well received. I was very proud of these students sharing their music talents in the community. Paula.
Thanks Paula for organising this!
