A crane may have one operator, but safe lifting depends on every person involved understanding their role and communicating clearly.

From the crane operator controlling each movement, to the dogman directing the lift, the rigger securing the load and the lift supervisor overseeing the plan—every role brings essential skills to the job. Site personnel also play their part by following instructions, respecting exclusion zones and staying alert.

When everyone knows their responsibility and works together, lifts become safer, smoother and more efficient. 🤝

Weight is only one part of the picture. The load’s shape, balance and surface area—along with the lifting radius, rigging arrangement, ground conditions, weather and surrounding work environment—can all affect how a lift should be planned.

Never judge a lift by weight alone. Proper planning and clear communication matter every time.
