SAFETY TIP: Winter riding brings its own unique challenges: Focus on being even more smooth with your riding. Keeping your knees gripping the tank and your arms relaxed, head and eyes looking up and forward will help if you do lose traction. "I hadn't been on a motorcycle for about 6 years. Lynne was very helpful with her advice and training tips. I was able to regain the basics quickly. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get back to riding again after a long break." - AP, June 2026

Before every ride, check your tyres.
Not because itβs a rule.
Because they decide how your bike will behave today.
Grip.
Braking.
Cornering.
Stability on wet seal or loose chip.
In NZ conditions, tyre pressure and tread matter more than most riders realise. A few PSI low can change how the bike turns. Worn tread can mean less grip when you hit that damp patch in a shaded corner.
Take one minute:
β’ Check pressure (cold)
β’ Look at tread depth
β’ Scan for cuts, nails, bulges
Two tyres. Thatβs your margin.
Make it part of your start-up routine β every ride.

Think back to the last time that you attended a Ride Forever course. What information do you recall from your 8 hours of training?
As time passes we lose a lot of the knowledge that we have gained. Keeping this knowledge top of mind, and putting it into practice, is key to keeping yourself safer on our roads.
We recommend that everyone dedicates a day a year (minimum) to attending a Ride Forever course to continually refresh their skills and their knowledge. Because lets not forget π Riding Forever means Learning Forever.

βββββ "As an experienced rider with many years experience and thousands of Kmβs under his belt, the Ride Forever Bronze course was basic but any reason to undertake training with a qualified instructor is an opportunity not to be missed. The course was well run by Andrew and I thoroughly enjoyed the day which was a mix of classroom, car park drills and a βput into actionβ ride. All new riders should do this course to gain more confidence on their bike." - TJ
π· Awesome day out on the bike for these riders who attended a Ride Forever Bronze with Andrew recently.
